Getting the active acne under control can feel like a huge milestone, but for many people, the story doesn’t quite end there.
You may be left with red or brown marks, enlarged pores, uneven texture or true acne scars, and these are not all the same thing.
That distinction is important because the treatment I recommend depends on what the acne has actually left behind.
If you came to see me, I would assess the type and depth of scarring, pigmentation, overall skin texture and whether there is still active acne.
For suitable patients, UltraClear® laser resurfacing may be an option for improving acne scarring and uneven texture. By creating controlled treatment within the skin, we can encourage collagen remodelling and work towards smoother, more even-looking skin.
For deeper or more complex acne scars, however, laser may form only part of a treatment plan.
And this is why consultation matters.
I don’t want to promise you perfect, poreless skin. Real skin has texture, and acne scars can vary enormously.
What we can discuss is whether it’s possible to make those scars less noticeable, improve the texture and quality of your skin, and help you feel that your acne no longer defines what you see in the mirror.
If your acne has gone but the scars haven’t, we can start by looking at what type of scarring you’re actually dealing with.
