“I just need help.”

That’s usually how conversations start.

“Which idea should I focus on?”

And I get it. Everything moves so fast right now. New tools, new platforms, new “must haves” every other week. It’s genuinely hard to keep up, let alone know what’s actually worth your time and what isn’t.

I’ve spent years freelancing inside other people’s businesses. Different industries, different stages, different problems. It’s given me a front row seat most people never get, and a very clear idea of what actually works and what’s just noise.

I’m so tired of seeing sensational claims on social media that are just not true, ai slop or misinformation.

No wonder no one knows what to believe anymore.

From my years in the health and fitness industry it’s always driven me crazy the utter rubbish people get told just for companies to sell their products.

My clients used to come to me so confused or trying to convince me that the latest fad they’d found was science backed and it really worked for their mates mate 🙄

And it’s even worse now, with ai we have no idea what videos or images are real, tech is moving so fast we are made to feel like we are falling behind if we don’t sign up to every new course or buy all the apps.

It’s overwhelming.

I’ve got a bit of a spidey sense for fake news (or maybe I’m just a miserable sceptic 😂) but I have a habit of fact checking everything and you won’t believe how much really is nonsense.

My job needs me to be on top of emerging trends both in tech and within wellbeing. So I’m constantly figuring out fact from fiction. And I’m going to start sharing more of that because I’m tired of the bu****it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ll deep dive as much as I can to help us thrive in the modern world both in our health and in our businesses 💫

The beauty industry is very good at taking legitimate science and wrapping it in some fairly enormous promises.

And LED masks are a perfect example.

A glowing mask costing anywhere from £25 to nearly £1,500 looks exactly like something we could all be persuaded we desperately need, without having the faintest idea what we’re actually buying.

So I went looking beyond the brand claims.

The interesting part is that the technology itself isn’t nonsense. There is credible research behind it. The harder question is whether the particular mask you’re considering delivers the right kind of light, at the right dose, and whether you’ll use it consistently enough to see a difference.

Because “clinically proven wavelengths” isn’t the same as that exact mask being clinically tested.

Seven colours don’t automatically make it better.

And wearing it for twice as long won’t necessarily get you results twice as quickly.

My honest view? I would recommend a good LED mask if it fits comfortably within your budget and you’re realistic about the results. It’s an addition to good skincare, not a miracle replacement for it.

The internet is very good at telling us what to buy. I’d rather work out what’s genuinely worth our money.

I saw a headline on this and immediately had questions 🧐

Is Google actually ringing businesses? What does it say? How does it decide who to call? And, more importantly, what does this mean if you run a small business?

So I went digging through Google’s own documentation rather than relying on the headline.

And yes, this is real.

Google can now use AI to contact multiple businesses on a customer’s behalf, ask for things like prices and availability, and bring the responses back to them.

The specific “Have AI check pricing” feature is currently documented as available in the US, so UK businesses don’t need to panic about missing a robot phone call just yet.

But I think the direction of travel is the interesting bit.

Search is becoming less about giving us a list of links and businesses to investigate ourselves, and more about doing some of that work for us.

There isn’t a secret trick to getting Google’s AI to choose your business. Google doesn’t currently publish exactly how businesses are selected for these calls.

So for now? Get the basics right. Keep your Google Business Profile accurate. Make it really obvious what you do, where you do it and how people can contact you. And check those automated call settings.

No panic. No secret AI hack. Just something worth knowing about before it lands here.

There’s something really energising about getting two creative brains in a room together.

I spent this morning with Becky Bettesworth at her new studio in Dartington, getting a first look at some of the new projects she’s been working on (there are some VERY exciting things coming 👀).

We originally met through work, but inevitably today’s catch-up went far beyond that.

Ideas led to more ideas. We talked about business, creativity, new projects, things we’d love to make happen, people we could bring together and the importance of using what we build to do some good along the way.

I think that’s one of my favourite things about working for myself.

You can spend far too much time in your own head with an idea, and then one conversation with someone who thinks a little differently can suddenly take it somewhere completely new.

Collaboration doesn’t always have to start with a plan.

Sometimes it starts with a coffee, a conversation and two brains going at approximately 100mph. 😂

Very excited to see where Becky takes this next chapter and what the future will bring 🤍

If your marketing looks like this - have a word 😂😉

We are all pretty much over the now aren’t we?
And apparently, we actually are.

Adobe’s 2026 consumer research found 70% of people asked say it’s important that personalised brand content feels human rather than automated or robotic, and a third would stop interacting with a brand if they discovered its content was AI-generated rather than human-made.

It also found 35% of consumers have authenticity concerns about AI-generated design, while another 16% specifically prefer the uniqueness of human-made work.

Which is unfortunate news for the purple gradient, glowing orb and completely pointless rockets 🚀

AI isn’t the problem. I use it every day.

But personally I think we’re reaching the point where simply being able to create something with AI isn’t impressive anymore.

The human bit is what makes it good.

And this actually gives us an opportunity we haven’t had for a long time - to stand out! Going back to old school design and human imagination is a vibe right now and can actually get you seen in a sea of the same slop.

Devon & Cornwall Police seized almost £2.9 million in assets from Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan following an investigation into tax and VAT evasion and money laundering.

So why Devon & Cornwall?

Although the financial activity stretched far beyond the South West, some of the bank accounts involved were based in Devon — bringing the case to Devon & Cornwall Police and leading to a much wider financial investigation.

Between 2014 and 2022, investigators traced around £21 million moving through multiple bank and cryptocurrency accounts. The court heard that the money was moved between accounts to disguise its origins and avoid paying tax and VAT.

The majority of the money seized went back to the Treasury, but more than £1 million was returned to Devon & Cornwall Police to reinvest locally.

And they chose to use it to help tackle violence against women and girls.

£50,000 of the Tate money is now helping fund the new Cornwall Male Ally Network, matched with another £50,000 from the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner.

It’s a 12-month pilot focused on prevention and early intervention — tackling the attitudes that can contribute to violence and abuse before they escalate. If successful, there’s an ambition to expand it into Devon and potentially other regions too.

And there’s another detail I love.

When Queen Camilla visited St Austell in March, representatives told her about the project. As a long-standing advocate for survivors of domestic abuse, she showed particular interest in its preventative approach and asked to be kept updated on its progress.

The Male Ally Network is part of wider work across Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to disrupt violence against women and girls.

There’s something deeply satisfying about money seized from a man who publicly described himself as a misogynist now being used to help men and boys challenge misogyny.

We’re quick to talk about what the police get wrong.

I think it’s worth talking about what they get right too.

This feels like a win worth sharing.
