Elite Lifestyle Medicine LTD 🩺Frontline A&E doctor teaching structured metabolic recovery to busy professionals to avoid burn out. The Midlife Mojo Doctor. Health, uncomplicated.

Support from both sides of the Stethoscope. Mojo, restored. I’m Dr. Kiri — The Midlife Mojo Doctor 🩺

After nearly 27 years as a frontline doctor, I know what it’s like to run on empty—living on caffeine and sugar, juggling everyone’s needs, and wondering if the brain fog, bloating, and exhaustion are just part of midlife. I’d lose it over small things—traffic, laundry, forgetting why I

walked into a room. In my forties, I was burnt out, inflamed, and thinking, is this it? Spoiler: it wasn’t. I stopped masking symptoms and started listening to my body. Natural nutrition and lifestyle medicine became my rescue plan—no diets, no extremes, just realistic changes that worked. I’m still gobsmacked at my results, which I’ve sustained the past 3 years effortlessly, and how it has made my life easier and so much happier, and this is why I’m on a mission to help others just like me to do the same. It’s game-changing to get your MOJO back! It lights me up to see my clients achieve the same. It gives me such a buzz seeing them fly high once more, rocking their world! I’m a cheerleader and accountability buddy, and I get what it’s like. Now, as The Midlife Mojo Doctor, I help busy professionals (especially those secretly running on empty) reclaim their energy and feel like themselves again. You don’t have to sacrifice your health to keep everything else going. And don’t say you’re too busy—I’m a single parent, doctor, coach, teenage referee/taxi, and dog mum. If I can do it, so can you. This isn’t about overhauling your life. It’s about fitting simple, sustainable steps into your real world. If you’re ready to get your MOJO back—energised, focused, and in control—let’s connect

One of the reasons high blood pressure catches people by surprise is that most people feel completely fine.
No pain.
No warning sign.
No obvious symptom.
Meanwhile, the numbers quietly creep upwards.
Many people assume high blood pressure happens suddenly.
In reality, it often develops gradually over many years.
Things like:
• poor sleep
• chronic stress
• carrying excess weight
• low activity levels
• too much alcohol
• highly processed diets
can all contribute.
That doesn't mean you should blame yourself.
It means you have more influence than you might realise.
Your body often whispers long before it shouts.
Paying attention early matters.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending Devon’s first Lifestyle Medicine conference, accredited by the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine.

What struck me most was being surrounded by such a large group of fellow doctors, mostly GPs, who think in exactly the same way.

How can we help people stay well?

How can we prevent illness rather than simply react to it?

As an A&E doctor, I spend much of my working life seeing the consequences when health has already started to unravel. It was refreshing and reassuring to spend a day with colleagues who are equally interested in what happens years before people arrive in hospital.

The biggest takeaway for me?

The fundamentals still matter.

✔️ Box breathing can improve sleep and help calm an overstimulated nervous system.

✔️ Nutrition matters. Drink mostly water and aim to make half your plate vegetables.

✔️ Movement does not have to mean the gym. Small movement snacks throughout the day really do add up.

✔️ Social connection is far more powerful than we often realise. Humans are wired to belong.

A huge shout out also to the team at Roadford Lake. Hands down, it was the best healthy, colourful conference lunch I have ever had. Fresh, vibrant & absolutely delicious. Proof that healthy food can be both nourishing and enjoyable.

And, of course, dancing appears to do many wonderful things too. The photographic evidence from the delegates may prove that. 😘

The day left me feeling inspired.

As both an A&E doctor and a Lifestyle Medicine and Natural Nutrition Coach, it was reassuring to spend the day surrounded by doctors discussing the very things I encourage my clients to focus on every day.

Better sleep.

Real food.

More movement.

Meaningful connection.

The things I encourage my clients to do are not complicated. They are not extreme. They are not fashionable.

They are simple habits that can make a difference both in how we feel weeks from now and in our health for years to come.

Sometimes it is reassuring to discover that the simple things really are the important things.

The basics really are the medicine.

One thing I have learned both personally and professionally is this.

The body adapts remarkably well for a while.

Until eventually it starts protesting.

Quietly at first.

A little bloating.
A little constipation.
A little more fatigue.
A little less resilience.

And because life is busy, most people simply keep going.

Many high performers become incredibly skilled at ignoring discomfort.

Especially when everyone around them is doing the same.

But normalised does not always mean normal.

And functioning does not automatically mean healthy.

I think many people are carrying around symptoms they have quietly accepted for years because they assume:
“Well this is just getting older.”

Often it is not ageing.
It is accumulated overload.

The encouraging part is this.

The body usually responds surprisingly well when you start consistently supporting it properly.

Not perfectly.
Not overnight.
But steadily.

And honestly, that is exactly what I help people do inside my coaching programmes.

My next small select group starts in September you can secure your place now, and I currently have a couple of VIP one-to-one spaces available before then.

Many lifestyle pillars in action here for me.

Enjoyable exercise. My version of HIIT 😂.
We both got quicker with our sprints by the end of the class.

Mindfulness / presence. No spare capacity for my brain to think of anything else other than remembering the course, giving Mr.Boo instructions and trying not to bump into any obstacles!! 😂

Out in nature

Destress.

Thanks as always to Jan from Quintor Agility.

My legs are now recovering. Sprinting after strength training earlier in the day… and I’m done!

I’m happy in the knowledge I’ve done a good job in protecting my healthspan today! ❤️

If your digestion regularly feels sluggish, uncomfortable or unpredictable, start here.

1. Increase fibre slowly and consistently

Many people either eat very little fibre or suddenly try to eat enormous amounts overnight.

Your gut generally prefers gradual change.

Aim for:
• vegetables
• beans
• pulses
• nuts
• seeds
• fruit
• whole foods where tolerated

Consistency matters more than perfection.

2. Hydration genuinely matters

Fibre without enough fluid is a bit like hiring extra traffic and removing the roads.

The bowel needs both.

Many busy adults are mildly dehydrated most of the time without realising.

Especially if caffeine intake is high.

3. Movement helps the gut too

Your digestive system likes movement.

You do not need military bootcamp fitness.

Walking helps enormously.
Especially after meals.

A lot of people I work with are trying to improve symptoms whilst also juggling stress, work, exhaustion and busy family lives.

That is why sustainable, realistic support matters far more than extreme health plans people cannot maintain.

Digestive symptoms can have a huge impact on quality of life.

But many people minimise them for years.

Bloating becomes normal.
Constipation becomes normal.
Pain becomes normal.
Feeling uncomfortable after eating becomes normal.

People start avoiding certain foods.
Planning around symptoms.
Worrying about where the nearest toilet is.

Quietly adapting their lives around a digestive system that no longer feels predictable.

Until eventually the body becomes harder to ignore.

For some people, diverticular disease is part of the reason.

It’s common, especially in midlife and beyond.

Whilst symptoms vary hugely between individuals, the foundations still matter:
• fibre
• hydration
• movement
• stress
• sleep
• food quality

Your gut is not separate from the rest of your life.

It responds to how you live, eat and cope too.

It was a privilege to share the stage and connect with such an inspiring group of people, including Isaac Kenyon, Martin Jones, Don Armand Laura Clayton from Soul Sanctuary, Andrew Clyaton of APEX Elliot Kay , Emily from 𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐘 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐇𝐀𝐒 ∞ 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐀𝐬𝐡 𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨 ∞ 𝚄𝙺 dōTERRA 𝚏𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛, Chloe from Integrated Health and Nutrition, Heather from Goodness Gracious Granola and of course the wonderful organiser Nicole Robinson.

Thank you to everyone who attended my Healthspan talk, asked questions and shared their stories.

Here’s to taking part again next year. See you there!

People often tell me I seem calm.

What they don’t always see is what was happening underneath.

A bit like a swan gliding across a lake.
Calm on the surface.
Furiously paddling underneath.

For years that was me.
Working in A&E.
Running on caffeine.
Pushing through exhaustion.

Telling myself I was fine because I was still functioning.
The problem is that functioning well is not always the same as feeling well.

My own health became the warning shot that changed everything.

It’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about Healthspan.

Not simply adding years to life.
Adding life to years.

Tomorrow at the Exmouth Wellness Festival I’ll be sharing lessons

I’ve learned from both sides of the stethoscope.
As the doctor.
And as the patient who realised something needed to change.

Many people think health suddenly disappears one day.

In reality, it usually fades much more quietly.

Less energy.
Poorer sleep.
More aches and pains.
Less resilience.

More dependence on caffeine and sugar just to get through the day.

I know because I’ve been there myself.

Healthspan isn’t about perfection.

It’s about protecting your future self through small choices repeated consistently over time.

That’s what I’ll be talking about this Sunday at the Exmouth Wellness Festival.
Practical ideas.
No guilt.
No extremes.

Just 2 days to go! Find out realistic ways to improve your chances of staying healthy, active and independent for longer.
