Grounding in your yoga practice

Taking a few moments to slow down and connect with the natural world can be a gentle way to support your wellbeing. One of the simplest ways to support your wellbeing is to reconnect with nature through grounding (or earthing).

Whether it’s standing barefoot on grass, walking along the beach, or simply sitting with your feet on the earth, grounding helps bring us back to the present moment. Many people find it helps reduce stress, improve sleep, ease tension, and create a greater sense of calm and balance.

This is one of the reasons grounding fits so naturally with yoga. Yoga isn’t just about movement; it’s about connection to ourselves, our breath, and the world around us. When we ground physically through our feet and energetically through mindful awareness, we create a stronger foundation for both body and mind.

Next time you’re outside, take a few moments with bare feet, to feel the earth beneath you, and notice how you feel. Sometimes the simplest practices can have the biggest impact.

Magnesium is my favourite mineral!

Most people don’t think twice about magnesium.

It’s one of those nutrients that quietly does its job until your body starts running low.

- That tension in your shoulders?
- The restless nights?
- The racing thoughts that hit just as you’re trying to fall asleep?

Magnesium might be more involved than you realise. This mineral supports everything from digestion to sleep to nervous system health.

And if you’re constantly stressed, tired, or wired, this could be a missing piece.

Swipe through to learn how magnesium actually helps your body function and why it deserves more attention in your daily routine.

Cooling Yoga

With the heatwave arriving this week, we’ll be adapting our yoga practice to support the body and mind in the warmer weather.

This week’s classes will focus on cooling, floor based hip opening sequences designed to help release tension, calm the nervous system, and leave you feeling grounded and refreshed rather than overheated.

Expect gentle movement, longer holds, deep stretches, mindful breathwork, and plenty of opportunities to slow down and listen to your body.

Please bring water, wear light comfortable clothing, and honour your energy levels during the practice.

Looking forward to moving mindfully together and staying cool through the heat.

Have you heard of a mineral mocktail?

Mineral mocktails are nourishing, alcohol free drinks designed to help support hydration and replenish important minerals and electrolytes like potassium and sodium. Especially helpful during hot weather, after exercise, or when energy feels depleted.

This Coconut Citrus Quencher is one of my favourite simple combinations for the current sunny weather.

Made with coconut water, fresh citrus, sea salt, and sparkling water, it’s a refreshing way to support hydration naturally while giving your body a little extra nourishment.

Perfect after yoga, a walk in the sunshine, or as an afternoon pick me up.

Save this recipe for the warmer days ahead.

Eating well doesn’t have to mean perfectly portioned meals or rigid rules.

It can be simple, gentle and flexible.

Start with real food you actually enjoy.

Add color, texture, and something that makes you feel satisfied, not just full.

This post isn’t about restriction or tracking. It’s about supporting your body with balanced, steady nourishment that feels doable on a regular day.

Balance in Yoga

This term as part of our moon we’ve been focusing on balance.

Not just balancing in poses, but developing stability, awareness, focus, and confidence both on and off the mat.

Balance work helps strengthen the body, improve coordination and posture, support healthy ageing, and encourage calm concentration through mindful movement and breath.

And perhaps most importantly, it teaches us to keep going even when we wobble.

Yoga reminds us that balance isn’t about perfection. It’s about awareness, adaptability, and finding steadiness within ourselves.

Every wobble is part of the practice

PCOS = PMOS

What has long been known as Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) is now being better understood as Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS)

A name that reflects the full picture of this complex condition.

For many, the term “PCOS” has felt confusing or even misleading, as not everyone has ovarian cysts, and the condition goes far beyond reproductive health alone. PMOS recognises that it is a whole-body condition involving hormones, metabolism, energy, skin, mood, and longterm wellbeing.

Research shows it can be linked with insulin resistance, blood sugar imbalance, irregular cycles, weight changes, acne, excess hair growth, and emotional wellbeing challenges.

This is where nutritional therapy can play a supportive role. By working with the body as a whole, we can focus on areas such as blood sugar balance, hormone regulation, gut health, inflammation, and sustainable lifestyle changes. Helping to support both symptoms and underlying imbalances.

If this resonates with you and you’d like to understand how nutritional therapy could support your individual symptoms and goals, please feel free to get in touch. I’d be happy to chat and see how I can help.

Spring Moon Flow Yoga - New Yoga Term

This spring inspired yoga flow invites you to slow down, reconnect, and align with the calming energy of the moon.

Together we’ll move through gentle Moon Salutations. A soothing and grounding sequence designed to quiet the mind, release tension, and create balance within both body and breath.

Traditionally connected with lunar energy, Moon Salutations represent reflection, intuition, and inner calm, making them the perfect practice for embracing the softer, renewing energy of spring.

Once we have taken time to ground and centre ourselves, we’ll explore a playful mini challenge with a Half Moon balance sequence, building strength, focus, and stability while encouraging confidence and lightness in movement.
