Tinnitus is the sensation of hearing sounds such as ringing, buzzing, or humming that are not caused by an external source. It is a common condition and can affect people in different ways, from mild occasional symptoms to more persistent sounds.

Tinnitus may be linked to hearing loss, loud noise exposure, ear infections, or other health conditions.

14th June marks World Blood Donor Day ❤️🩸

This annual awareness day highlights the vital role blood donation plays in healthcare and the difference donated blood can make for patients every day. Donated blood is used in a wide range of treatments and emergencies, including surgery, cancer care, childbirth complications, and serious injuries.

One donation can help support more than one patient, and blood supplies rely on regular donations throughout the year to help meet ongoing demand.

A Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is caused by bacteria entering the urinary tract, usually from the gut. Infection can occur in different parts of the urinary system, including the urethra, bladder and kidneys.

You may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

🔹Passing urine more often than usual
🔹Burning or pain when passing urine
🔹Sudden or urgent need to pass urine
🔹Blood in your urine
🔹Needing to pass urine at night
🔹Pain or discomfort in the lower tummy

Antibiotics aren’t always needed, especially for milder infections, and may not be the best option.

Positive pregnancy test? Don’t delay - contact our Maternity Booking Bureau to book your pregnancy care.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! To allow for your maternity care to be tailored to your specific needs and to improve outcomes for you and your unborn baby, it is recommended that you meet with a midwife before 10 weeks of pregnancy. We’ll discuss your medical history and plan your care together.

Please have the date of the first day of your last period ready, this helps us schedule your first appointments and scans.

To reduce your baby’s risk of developing neural tube defects such as spina bifida you should also commence a multivitamin which includes folic acid 400 micrograms and vitamin D 10mg. Evidence shows that it is best to commence these vitamins pre conception, or as soon as you find out you are pregnant and can be provided for free by your GP Practice or local pharmacy.

You will also be provided with healthy start vitamins at your first midwife appointment and throughout your pregnancy.
