Hey Midlife Women of Forth Valley 👋

Wanna join our monthly meet up and have some fun?

We’ve got lots planned for the next few months.
In fact, we’ve got so many ideas, we’ll be meeting for years to come. 😍

So far we’ve enjoyed a walk in nature.
In June we are exploring Inchmaholme island and an outdoor meditation/dip/sauna to celebrate summer solstice.

In July we’re having a yoga and book swap event and Charlene from is going to guide us through a bookmark crochet session.

If you fancy joining us, pop a comment below and I’ll send you some more info.

Do you ever feel like we’re all just watching life through a screen?

Saving things we’ll maybe do one day.
Liking things we wish we had time for.

A couple of things happened to me in March , that made me go right, let’s actually go and do them!

And I’m hoping that you fancy doing them with me. 🙌

I’ve had this idea for months now and I reckon it’s time to try it and see where it lands.

I’m creating a WhatsApp group for midlife women who want to meet up, try new things, and enjoy life away from screens - no pressure, no expectations.

Just good company, some time out, have a few laughs, meet like minded women.

I’m thinking:

Walks in nature
Wild swimming
SUP
Pottery / craft events
Day dancing
Beach & BBQ days
Coffe & Chats
Cinema trips

I’d also love to hear any other ideas you have.

✨£2/month to cover admin fees. Additional costs may apply to cover some events.
✨Monthly meet-ups (will be held on a Wednesday evening, Friday evening, Saturday or Sunday depending on the activity)
✨Come along to whatever feels right for you. ✨Come alone and leave with friends.

I posted this on my stories yesterday and so far we have nearly 40 women interested in meeting up. 🥰

Let me know if this is something that you would be interested in.

On the weekend of the Spring Equinox, I hosted a Yoga Retreat. Just four women and myself and we had the best time.

If you fancy going on retreat, remember bigger doesn’t always necessarily mean better, and sometimes smaller gatherings offer more space:

More space to be seen
More space to be heard
More space to connect
More space to just be

Over the weekend we moved slowly through our yoga sessions.
We took some walks in nature, enjoying the Spring sunshine on our faces.
We journaled, shared stories, pulled cards, reflected and most importantly - rested. Truly rested.

No-one felt the urge to check their phones, but instead made space for naps, reading or chatting.
There was early nights and slow mornings
The kind of pace that we don’t often give ourselves at home.

And then as if the weekend couldn’t get any better, we even caught a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
Standing in a field in our jammies on a Saturday night in awe. A moment to remember for sure.

Small retreats mean:
A deeper connection (with yourself and each other)
A sense of space to open up, or not - both are welcome
A slower, more nourishing pace
A feeling that you’re part of something sacred

The weekend felt like a gentle turning point. A time of transformation.
A quiet emergence into spring 🌱🌷

If you feel the call to join us next time, I’d love to share the space with you.

The beginning of March always feels like a quiet turning point to me.

Not quite winter.
Not quite spring.
But something is shifting.

In seasonal living, March brings a feeling of hope and emergence.

The lighter mornings and longer nights remind us that there is a subtle stirring, not only in nature, but in us too.

There is a sense that the earth is beginning to wake up from its winter slumber. Buds are forming. Birds are louder. And even if it’s still cold, there’s a sense that winter is loosening its grip.

Seasonally, March invites us to:

• Gently start to shift from winter’s slower rhythm
• Introduce a little more movement
• Clear out what feels heavy or stagnant
• Plant small seeds of new beginnings without rushing into full bloom

Maybe asking yourself:

What am I ready to leave behind?
What feels ready to grow?
What needs a little more light?

In yoga, this might look like spending a little more time in our standing postures, focusing on building strong, stable roots, that will see us through the rest of the year.

In life, it might mean starting to declutter or saying yes to something new.

Seasonal living reminds us that we can be like nature - unfolding steadily, imperfectly and in our own time.

March is that unfolding, and I think I’m ready for that.

Are you?

There are many reasons people join a yoga class:

Their bodies feel stiff
Their back’s a wee bit niggly
They want to feel less anxious
They don’t feel well rested
Or they just need an hour for themselves

Maybe you want to come along because you want to “get more flexible.”

And then one day, you notice…
You’re putting your socks on without needing to sit down
You’re able to reach for something in the back of the cupboard without flinching
You didn’t snap at someone, whereas before you might have
You sleep better
You actually took a pause and a few breaths before having a difficult conversation

And as cliche as it sounds - that’s when you realise that yoga is not just about touching your toes.
It’s about how you move through your life.

In my classes we build…
Strength so you can carry the shopping.
Balance to help when you’re rushing around
Mobility that makes getting up and down off the floor easier
Moments of calm for when life feels overwhelming

And if you still want to sit down to put your socks on, that’s fine too - there is no judgement here. 🤪

I hold classes on:
Tuesday, 5.45pm & 7.15pm (spaces available)
Thursday, 6pm & 7.30pm (wait list for both classes)
Friday, 7pm (Monthly Restorative sessions)

Send me a message if you’d like some more info or if you’d like to book in.

Sunday morning Sauerkraut:

I’m delighted that Denise is coming back to this month to deliver another sauerkraut workshop.

If you missed the one in November, now is your chance to come along and learn how to make your very own kraut.

You might be wondering what connection is there between fermented foods and a yoga practice? 🤔

Read on to find out more:

🧘‍♀️ Yoga positively influences the gut microbiome by reducing stress, which calms the gut-brain axis and allows the body to produce beneficial hormones. Stress reduction promotes a more favorable environment for healthy gut bacteria.

🥬🫙Many traditional ferments (like homemade sauerkraut) contain beneficial gut bacteria species, probiotics, giving you a nice synergy in one tasty food. Improving your gut microbiome.

🧠 It improves mood, immunity, mild digestive aid, anti-allergy, IBS, gut repair, cholesterol control, overall gut resilience 🦠

Adding fermented foods to your diet alongside practicing yoga means you are giving your body the best possible support for your overall health. It’s a win win situation 😁

Drop us a message if you’d like to book in. 😁
