Your feet need sun protection too ☀️👣
When we think about skin cancer, we often forget the soles of our feet—but melanoma can develop here, even in places that don’t get much sun. A type called acral lentiginous melanoma is often found on the plantar (bottom) surface of the foot and can go unnoticed for longer.
🔍 What to look for:
• Dark or irregular patches on the sole
• Changes in an existing mole
• Spots that don’t heal or look unusual
🧴 How to protect your feet:
• Apply SPF to the tops AND soles of your feet when exposed
• Don’t forget sunscreen between your toes
• Wear protective footwear on hot or sunny days
• Check your feet regularly—especially areas you don’t usually see
Early detection saves lives. If you notice anything new or changing, get it checked by a professional.
