Book with Solais to get booked in for this collaboration on the 2nd of October ❤️

I’m delighted to welcome Heather McCabe into Solāis on Friday 2nd October for a special collaboration bringing together two treatments with a shared interest in the relationship between emotional experience, the nervous system and physical body.

infrared works through deep therapeutic heat, supporting circulation, pain, fatigue, sleep and recovery while you lie fully reclined and completely privately.

Heather’s Tri Essence Healing approaches the mind-body relationship differently, using therapeutic touch, presence, grounding and nervous-system-informed techniques to help the body slow down, soften and move out of constant “doing”.

Different treatments with a very aligned approach.

You never really know the impact you have on people.

A conversation you barely remember might be one they've never forgotten.

Something you said in passing might have been exactly what somebody needed to hear that day.

A bit of kindness you thought nothing of might have landed at a time when someone was struggling.

Even just making somebody laugh when they really needed it.

We tend to think making a difference has to be something big.

It doesn't.

Most of us will probably never know all the little moments where we mattered in somebody else's life.

And I quite like that.

Because it means you don't need a platform.

You don't need all the answers.

You don't need to do anything extraordinary.

Sometimes you just need to be a decent human being in the moment that's in front of you.

A smile.

A conversation.

A wee bit of kindness.

A bit of your time.

Never underestimate what that might mean to somebody.

You might forget the moment completely.

They might remember it forever. ❤️

Sometimes I look around the centre and think about how much has happened within these walls.

People have walked through the door exhausted, sore, overwhelmed, needing answers, needing a bit of space, or sometimes just needing an hour where nothing is expected of them.

And over time the centre has grown too.

Different therapists. Different treatments. Different approaches. Different personalities. But all with the same intention — to help people feel better in whatever way we can.

I love that someone can come through our doors for one thing and discover something else they didn't even know might help them.

I love hearing the conversations in the hallway, seeing familiar faces coming back, meeting new ones and watching the place become busier with practitioners doing what they love.

It's not a fancy spa and it's never tried to be.

It's just a wee place in Falkirk filled with people who genuinely care about the work they do and the people who come to see them.

And I'm actually really proud of what it's becoming. 🤍

Do you ever notice how quickly we move the goalposts on ourselves?

You finally do the thing you were terrified to do...

and two days later you're thinking about what you need to do next.

You achieve something you once really wanted...

and suddenly it just feels normal.

You handle something that the old you would have completely crumbled over...

and barely even acknowledge it.

We're bloody brilliant at noticing where we're not yet.

Not so good at noticing how far we've actually come.

And I'm not talking about some big gratitude exercise or pretending everything is wonderful.

Just occasionally stopping long enough to think...

"Actually, I did that."

"I handled that."

"That would have floored me once."

"I'm quite proud of myself."

Before your brain immediately replies...

"Yeah, but..." 😂

No buts.

Let yourself have the bloody moment.

You earned it. ❤️

What a weekend ❤️

The first Tri Essence Practitioner Training is complete, and I don't think I could have asked for a better weekend.

These ladies first came together through the 8-week Tri Essence course, where they experienced the work for themselves. This weekend, I got to watch them take that next step and begin learning how to offer it to others.

And that was probably my favourite part.

Watching them follow the protocol, but more importantly, watching them begin to understand that they don't need to make anything happen. To be present. To observe. To step back from needing to question or analyse every little thing and trust what is unfolding in front of them.

Because that is such a huge part of Tri Essence.

I even got to be on the receiving end and experience them working on me, which was really lovely ❤️

There were lots of observations, lots of learning, some really interesting responses... and an absolutely ridiculous amount of laughter 😂

And then the messages afterwards...
"Can we do this weekend over?"
"I wouldn't have missed this weekend for the world."
"Pretty bleedin' awesome."

Along with them noticing changes in their own bodies after the weekend.

I sat reading the messages tonight thinking... this is actually happening.

Something that began with an idea, developed through working with people and listening to what I was seeing and feeling, is now being learned and practised by other people.

That's quite a moment.

I'm incredibly proud of my first Tri Essence practitioners and very grateful that these ladies trusted me enough to be the first ones to take this journey.

The beginning of something new. ❤️

I think sometimes we forget that people are allowed to be complicated.

You can be confident and still doubt yourself.

Love your life and still have days where you've had enough of it.

Be incredibly grateful for someone and occasionally want them to bu**er off. 😂

You can miss someone and know you don't want them back.

Be excited about something and absolutely terrified at the same time.

Feel strong one minute and completely overwhelmed the next.

None of those things cancel the other one out.

We seem to think we have to choose one feeling and make it the truth.

But we're human.

We're messy.

We contradict ourselves.

Sometimes two completely opposite things are true at exactly the same time.

Maybe we don't always need to work out which feeling is the "real" one.

Maybe they're both real.

And maybe that's perfectly okay. ❤️

Today is a big day. ❤️

The very first Tri Essence Practitioner Course begins today.

And I genuinely don’t know how to put into words how I’m feeling.

Excited.
Nervous.
Proud.

Probably all three in equal measure. 😂

Because Tri Essence started with me following something I could feel.

Listening. Observing. Trusting what I was noticing in the body. Asking questions. Learning. Changing things. Sometimes doubting myself and then coming back to what I knew and what I was seeing right in front of me.

Slowly, it became something.

Then it got a name.

Then a course.

And today, for the first time, I’m going to teach people how to become Tri Essence Practitioners.

That sentence alone feels quite emotional to write.

Because this is where it stops being something that only lives through me.

Today I get to place it into the hands of other people.

People who will bring their own presence to it, work with their own clients and create ripples that I may never even get to see.

There is something incredibly special about that.

I have absolutely no idea how big Tri Essence will become or where this journey is ultimately taking me.

But I do know I’ll remember today.

The first course.
The first practitioners.
The beginning of the next chapter.

So yes… I’m excited.

I’m nervous.

I’m ridiculously proud.

And I’m ready. ❤️

Here we go.

Have you ever walked into a room and known something was off before anyone said a word?

Or sat beside someone who tells you...

"I'm fine."

And everything in you thinks...

No you're bloody not. 😂

We communicate so much without speaking.

A change in someone's face.

The way they breathe.

Their posture.

Their tone.

The energy in the room.

Sometimes you can't even explain what you've noticed.

You just feel it.

I think we're often so focused on words that we forget we're constantly having conversations without them.

And perhaps that's why presence matters so much.

Because people can feel when you're actually with them.

They can feel when you're distracted.

They can feel when you're uncomfortable with their emotion.

And they can feel when they don't have to hide it from you.

Sometimes nothing needs to be said.

Sometimes being genuinely present with another human being says more than all the right words ever could.

❤️

I think sometimes we confuse knowing someone for knowing what they'll do.

"They wouldn't do that."

"That's not like them."

"I know them."

And then they do something that completely catches us off guard.

But people aren't predictable little boxes.

We know pieces of them.

We know who they've been with us.

We know what they've shared.

We know them through our own experience of them.

But there will always be parts of another person we don't fully know.

And I actually think that's quite important to remember.

Not because we should walk around suspicious of everyone. 😂

But because sometimes we take another person's behaviour and immediately make it about us.

What did I do?

Why wasn't I enough?

How could they do that to me?

When sometimes what someone does tells you far more about where THEY are than it ever will about your worth.

You don't have to understand every choice somebody makes.

And you certainly don't have to use their choices as evidence of something being wrong with you. ❤️

Have you ever actually listened to the way you speak to yourself?

Not the affirmations.

The running commentary. 😂

"You idiot."

"Why did you say that?"

"You look awful."

"You should be doing more."

"Everyone else seems to manage."

"I should have known better."

We say things to ourselves so automatically that half the time we don't even notice we're doing it.

And I'm not suggesting we all start staring lovingly into a mirror telling ourselves we're magnificent every morning. 😂

But maybe we could stop being such arseholes to ourselves.

You can acknowledge that you got something wrong without destroying yourself over it.

You can want to improve something without hating where you are now.

You can have an embarrassing moment without replaying it seventeen times at 2am.

And you can make a mistake without turning the mistake into a definition of who you are.

Maybe being kinder to yourself isn't about constantly telling yourself how amazing you are.

Maybe sometimes it's simply refusing to speak to yourself in a way you'd never speak to someone you love.
