πŸŽ‰ Can You Help Support Our Open Day? πŸŽ‰

As we prepare for our Kinnaird Manor Open Day on Saturday 20th June, we're looking for a little help from our wonderful community.

🍰 Cake & Bake Donations Needed We're hoping to fill our café with lots of delicious home baking, cakes, traybakes and sweet treats for visitors to enjoy throughout the day. If you enjoy baking and would like to contribute, we'd love to hear from you.

🎁 Raffle Prize Donations Our raffle is always one of the most popular attractions of the day and we're looking for prizes of all shapes and sizes. Whether it's a gift set, voucher, bottle, hamper item or something completely different, every donation is greatly appreciated.

All proceeds from our Open Day will support causes chosen by our residents, helping us continue to make a positive difference both within our home and the wider community.

If you can help with either a raffle prize or some baking, please contact Jamie or drop your donation into the home before the event.

A New Role, A New Purpose, A Lot of Smiles!

There was great excitement at Kinnaird Manor this morning as Margaret officially started her new role as our Daily Chat Distribution Manager!

Each day from 9.15am, the Daily Chat magazine makes its journey from the printer to our lounges, reading areas and residents' rooms. It's a simple routine that helps keep everyone connected, informed and entertained.

Today, Margaret took charge of the operation and carried out her duties with such enthusiasm that we knew instantly we'd found the right person for the job. In fact, her trial shift lasted all of five minutes before she was offered the position!
The salary negotiations were swift and successful, with payment agreed in the form of biscuits.

Humour aside, moments like these are so important. Having a role, a responsibility and being able to contribute to daily life within our home helps create a real sense of purpose and belonging ✨️🧑

We think Margaret's first day has been a roaring success. Well done, Margaret! same time tomorrow?

🧑 Kindness really is contagious! 🧑

After sharing the wonderful kindness shown by our residents this morning, we'd like to keep the kindness flowing with another two fantastic examples of people giving back to others.

Every year, our Open Day helps raise money for our Residents' Comfort Fund. This year, however, our residents made a very special decision. They have chosen to share the funds raised between three local charities, helping support organisations that make a real difference in our community.

Our first chosen charity is Awakening The Festival run by Enable Falkirk Branch.
Awakening is a truly incredible festival that provides a fun, inclusive and welcoming day out for people with disabilities, alongside their families and friends. We know just how much joy and opportunity events like this bring, and we are delighted that our residents have chosen to support such a worthwhile cause.
The kindness doesn't stop there...

The amazing team at Awakening have very generously donated a number of FREE tickets for our residents to enjoy the festival with their loved ones.

WE MADE CHOCOLATE APPLES THIS AFTERNOON πŸ˜‹πŸ€©βœ¨οΈ

Huge THANK YOU to our local Tesco Community Champion Leanne for your continuous support and love to our home, residents and staff ❀️

This morning Leanne turned up with a bag of about 300 apples for everyone at Kinnaird!! It didn't take Jamie long to think about how we can make efficient use of them all and this was day one and safe to say a massive success!

The residents that managed to not eat theirs straight away will likely be enjoying it for supper right now 🀣

β˜€οΈ What a week last week at Kinnaird Manor! β˜€οΈ

Looking back through these photos, it's hard to believe everything we've packed into just one week!

We've enjoyed a fantastic BBQ Garden Party, plenty of games, singalongs and exercise sessions, creative fun with Creative Mojo, and some wonderful songwriting with Kim from Freedom of Mind Choir. There have been relaxing lazy days, walks around the garden, strolls with our much-loved therapy doll, lots of laughter, chats and special moments shared together.

A highlight of the week was celebrating Irene's birthday in The Garden Room, surrounded by friends, family and plenty of birthday cheer! πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰

Our residents have also been busy helping with Open Day planning, and we rounded off Friday afternoon in style with a fantastic ABBA Tribute and Singalong from Elisse, with everyone singing, dancing and reminiscing along to the classics! 🎢✨And the truth is... that's not even everything we've been up to!
