I was teaching a two-day Advanced Paediatric First Aid Qualification, at Level 3, recently at a local college. It was a fabulous group of students who all had a lovely curiosity around first aid and lifesaving skills, asking various questions to extend their knowledge.📚

✨ It was a wonderful two-days full of laughter, team work and prizes!! ✨

There were two very special students in this class who went out of their way to help me set up, unpack, move tables, as well as organise books for me. They were always the last the leave, helping to tidy the classroom, and always on hand to help me wheel my kit and equipment back to my car.🚘

Towards the end of day two, lovely Meghan and Rose gave me my own personal prize! A black and gold dragon to remember them by and carry with me on my different teaching adventures. 🐉🖤💛

We pondered for a while about what to call him, and ended up on Charlie Patric Roberto, AKA, CPR Dragon! 🩺🐉

As someone who creates games and prizes in sessions to keep learning fun and engaging, someone decided it would be nice to bring me a gift. It is always such a joy to know how much people enjoy the training I offer with their thoughtful gifts of kindness and delight. 💝

I receive a lot of beautiful gifts from people on my training courses, and I never take any of their kind, thoughtful generosity for granted. 🙏

However, I don’t need gifts for the work I do, although it is always appreciated. You are the gift by attending the training, listening and interacting in the sessions I teach, and taking lifesaving skills away. ❤️

The immense joy I gain from watching people’s growth and understanding in the classroom fills me up for such a long time afterwards, with wonderful emails of thanks, follows on my social media and leaving fabulous reviews, whether that be in paediatric first aid, safeguarding children & vulneable adults, or mental health. 🌟

People bring me joy, the chocolate, cards and gifts are just a bonus!! 🍫💌🎁

With Benedict’s Law expected to come into effect from September 2026, schools are being encouraged to strengthen their approach to allergy management and anaphylaxis preparedness.

For staff working with children and young people, the ability to recognise the signs of anaphylaxis and respond quickly could make all the difference in an emergency.

Our 1-Day Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis course equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills to:

✔ Recognise and assess anaphylactic reactions
✔ Identify common triggers and warning signs
✔ Respond safely and effectively in an emergency
✔ Understand the use of adrenaline auto-injectors
✔ Provide potentially life-saving treatment until emergency services arrive

Anaphylaxis is a severe, life-threatening allergic reaction that requires immediate action. Having trained and confident staff is essential for creating safer environments in schools, nurseries and childcare settings.
