Hywel Dda Health Charities recently funded a baby CPR manikin for Hywel Dda Health Board Maternity Services in Wales, supporting essential neonatal resuscitation training for maternity teams.

Regular, realistic training helps staff maintain the skills and confidence needed to respond quickly and effectively during neonatal emergencies. It is a great example of investment in the skills, equipment and education that help protect the most vulnerable patients.

Knowing what to do if a baby or child experiences a cardiac arrest can make a vital difference.

Resuscitation Council UK Aaron’s Heart is a free resource designed to help parents, carers and anyone looking after children learn the skills needed to respond.

Learning and practising CPR before it’s ever needed can help build the confidence to act in an emergency.

Brayden Baby supports realistic infant CPR training, giving learners intuitive, real-time feedback as they practise these essential skills.

Are you measuring CPR training attendance, or actual competence?

Moving from compliance to competence does not mean rebuilding your entire training programme. With connected training technology, organisations can use objective performance data to understand where skills are strong, where gaps exist and where additional support may be needed.

VivusCardio Connect works alongside Brayden Manikins to give instructors and training managers greater visibility across individual learners, teams and the wider organisation.

The result is a clearer, evidence-based picture of CPR performance over time.

Discover how VivusCardio Connect can help you build a more data-informed CPR training programme via the link in the comments.

❤️ You don't need a medical background to save a life.

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance recently held a free CPR training session in Canvey, equipping local residents with the skills and confidence to act in those vital first moments before emergency services arrive.

It's a simple initiative, but one that has the potential to save lives.

Every year, around 35,000 people in the UK experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, and every minute without CPR significantly reduces their chance of survival. Learning these skills doesn't just prepare you for an emergency, it could mean the difference between life and death for a family member, a colleague, or even a stranger.

A huge well done to organisations like Essex & Herts Air Ambulance for empowering communities with practical, life-saving knowledge. The more people who know CPR, the safer our communities become.

In our latest blog, we explore practical strategies for delivering consistent, high-quality CPR training across multiple sites, including:

✔️ Standardising training delivery across locations
✔️ Measuring performance objectively
✔️ Centralising training data and reporting
✔️ Scaling programmes without compromising quality

Whether you're responsible for resuscitation training, clinical education, or workforce development, these insights can help strengthen training outcomes across your organisation.

ALS training should reflect the pressures of real clinical care.

Brayden ALS is designed to support full ALS workflow, with realistic chest rise, airway management, and feedback that helps teams verify correct performance.

ALS training that feels real
🔹 Prepare teams for real-world emergencies with a manikin designed to support lifelike, responsive and scenario-based training.

Train like they treat
🔹 Brayden ALS helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and clinical performance, giving healthcare professionals realistic hands-on practice.

True-to-life anatomy
🔹 With a realistic airway, chest rise, carotid pulse point and accurate anatomical landmarks, learners can build confidence through authentic practice.

Airway skills covered
🔹 Practice basic airway manoeuvres, BVM ventilation, supraglottic airway insertion and endotracheal intubation in one realistic training solution.

More than CPR practice
🔹 From IV and IO access to medication and fluid administration scenarios, Brayden ALS supports a wider range of advanced life support training needs.

Feedback that builds confidence
🔹 Objective CPR feedback helps learners understand the impact of high-quality compressions in real time.

A new systematic review and meta-analysis is putting the spotlight back on an important question in resuscitation education.

Is compression-only CPR always the best approach?

The review found that standard CPR (chest compressions combined with rescue breaths) was associated with a 22% increase in the odds of survival compared with compression-only CPR following out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

While neurological outcomes were not significantly different, the findings highlight a positive trend and reinforce the value of teaching rescuers not just what to do, but how to do it with confidence.

For CPR instructors, this is a timely reminder that effective training goes beyond technique; it builds the confidence to act when every second counts.
