Faversham Medical Group has today unveiled the first combined public-access defibrillator and bleed control kit in the local area at Newton Place Surgery site. Defibrillator and bleed control kits are now available at both Faversham Medical Practice and Newton Place Surgery sites.
The equipment has been supplied through the generous support of the Friends of Faversham Cottage Hospital Community Medical Centres and Carl Scott, who has been appointed an MBE for services to the protection of young people.
The cabinet contains an automated external defibrillator (AED), alongside essential bleed control equipment, including bandages and tourniquets. These items can be used by members of the public to provide immediate assistance to someone experiencing a cardiac arrest or serious bleeding while awaiting the arrival of the emergency services.
The initiative aims to improve the community’s access to life-saving equipment and support a faster response in the crucial minutes before emergency services arrive.

AGE FRIENDLY AMBASSADOR ROLE
Are you aged 50 or over and passionate about making Faversham a great place to grow older? Join our network of Age Friendly Ambassadors and help shape the future of your community.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Age Friendly Ambassadors help make Faversham a place where people of all ages can live well, feel valued and stay connected to their communities. Unlike a traditional volunteer role, there are no set shifts or tasks. Instead, you’ll be part of a network of local people who champion positive ageing and help ensure older people’s voices are heard.
Using your experiences, interests and community connections, you’ll share insights, raise awareness and help shape Age Friendly Communities across Faversham and Kent. How you get involved is entirely up to you, making this a flexible role that fits around your life
WHY VOLUNTEER WITH INVOLVE?
At Involve, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to thrive, regardless of the challenges they face. Our volunteers help us create healthier, more connected and inclusive communities across Kent.
In return, we’ll provide training, support, reimbursement of agreed expenses and the opportunity to be part of a friendly and welcoming team.
