FREE Community Wellness Event – Everyone Welcome! 🌞

Come along and join us for a fun-filled Community Wellness Event, with something for children, adults and families.

There will be:
Arts & crafts for children and adults
Face painting and braiding
Sensory play and movement sessions
Entertainment in the Barrington Café
Refreshments available throughout the day

Saturday 10th October | 10am–2pm
Ferndown Day Centre & Barrington Café

The sensory play sessions will take place at 11am and 1pm.

Organised by The Orchid House Surgery Patient Participation Group, with support from some fantastic local groups and providers.

With very high temperatures expected, please take extra care during the hot weather.

☀️ Stay hydrated
🏠 Keep cool and avoid the midday sun
👒 Wear light clothing and sunscreen
👵 Check on elderly relatives, neighbours and anyone who may be vulnerable
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked car

If you feel dizzy, sick, weak or develop a headache, move to a cool place, drink water and seek advice if symptoms do not improve.

A RED heat health alert is in place across the South West from 12:30am Wednesday until 11:30pm on Thursday 🚨

Staying hydrated, avoiding the sun during the hottest part of the day, and keeping your home cool can make a big difference.

It’s also important to look out for others, especially elderly relatives, neighbours, and those with underlying health conditions, to make sure they are aware of the forecast and following the necessary advice.
