As a psychotherapeutic counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and resources to help clients better understand themselves, process difficult experiences and create meaningful change in their lives. Here are some of my favourites 😍:

✨ Inner Child Work – Explores how childhood experiences continue to influence us in adulthood, supporting healing, self-compassion and emotional growth.

✨ Shadow Work – Encourages us to examine the parts of ourselves we may reject, avoid or hide, helping to foster greater self-acceptance and authenticity.

✨ Internal Family Systems (IFS) – Views each person as being made up of different "parts," each with its own thoughts, feelings and role. IFS helps us to understand and build compassionate relationships with these parts, allowing healing of emotional wounds and greater access to their core Self, which is characterised by qualities such as calmness, confidence and clarity.

✨ Transactional Analysis (TA) – Helps us understand our patterns of communication, relationships and behaviour through exploring our Parent, Adult, and Child ego states.

Each of these approaches offers a different lens through which we can understand ourselves, and I tailor my work to the unique needs of each client rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing more detailed posts about each of these methods, explaining how they work and how they may be helpful.

If any of these interest you, or you would like more information, please get in touch 🩡

Running your own business isn't always as glamorous as it may seem.

There are long hours, endless to-do lists, constant marketing, finances to manage, social media to keep up with and a never-ending stream of ideas running through your mind. Even when you're supposed to be relaxing, your business often isn't far from your thoughts.

If you're unwell or take time off, the work often waits for you and so do the bills. The responsibility can feel heavy at times. But despite all of that, there are some incredible benefits too.

You have the freedom to choose your own hours, work around family commitments and social plans to create a schedule that fits your life. You get to build something that is truly yours, follow your passion, make your own decisions and see the direct impact of your hard work.

For me, the flexibility and the opportunity to do meaningful work make the challenges worthwhile. Running a business is far from easy, but it is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.

To all the fellow business owners juggling the challenges and celebrating the wins along the way... I see you 🩡

Hard work pays off πŸ’ͺ

I’m so pleased to share that I recently recieved the news that I passed all work and final exams and have achieved full accreditation with UKCP.

It has been a long and meaningful journey, and I’m incredibly grateful to all of my clients who have trusted me to walk alongside them throughout it.

Thank you for your support, trust, and belief in the therapeutic process 🩡

I need your help πŸ‘‹

As I continue developing my counselling practice, I’d love to hear from you about the kinds of support you feel would benefit either yourself or the community most.

What types of therapy or support spaces do you think people are needing right now?

Some ideas I’ve been considering are:

✨ Group therapy
✨ Couples therapy
✨ Support groups
✨ Workshops

I’d genuinely love to know your thoughts. What do you think would make the biggest difference? What would you personally find helpful or valuable?

Please feel free to comment below or message me privately if you’d rather share that way.

🌿 Welcome to my therapy room 🌿

I know reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, so I wanted to share a little glimpse of the space where we’ll meet.

My aim is to always to create a calm, safe and comfortable environment where you can simply be yourself.

Being a parent is difficult... there is no rule book to guide us through it and seeing our kids struggle is one of the hardest things we can go through 😒

It's easy to want to 'fix' the problems our children are experiencing, but being there for them is just as (if not more) important. Here are some things we can say to help them to feel supported:

πŸ’¬ "There is not a single thing in life that we can't figure out together."

This helps children believe that we are dedicated to helping them through even the messiest and most complex things in life.

πŸ’¬ "You can literally ask or tell me anything"

This lets them know that we will always be a safe place for the weird, scary or awkward conversations.

πŸ’¬ "Its not your job to make me happy. It's your job to figure out who you are and be true to that."

When children feel the freedom to be themselves, they are less likely to struggle with depression, addiction and self harm.

πŸ’¬ "If you tell me that someone is hurting you or scaring you, I will always believe you no matter who it is."

Unfortunately, the mass majority of abuse our kids encounter is from people we/they know and trust. They need to know that we will believe them and help them through it.

Kids need to be seen, heard and allowed to be themselves.

Adversity happens to us all, it's the support we recieve during the hard times that truly makes the difference 🩡

Self-love isn’t selfish, it’s the foundation of a healthy self-esteem.

When we criticise ourselves or constantly put our needs as a lower priority, our self-esteem often suffers.

But when we begin to treat ourselves with kindness, compassion and patience, confidence can grow from the inside out.

You don’t have to earn your worth. You are already worthy 🩡

ADHD is currently one of the most diagnosed conditions in the UK for both children and adults.

In children, it presents as inattentiveness, impulsivity and hyperactivity.

In adults, it shows up as a struggle to focus, emotional reactivity and overwhelm.

Discussions around medication are usually the first thing to happen, but often what is missed are the dietary and lifestyle changes that can help to manage symptoms.

The ADHD brain would have thrived in our hunter-gatherer days but in our modern environment of sedentary lifestyle, repetitive tasks and digital overstimulation is hugely challenged.

It's not laziness. It's neurochemistry.

Exercise is one of the most powerful non-pharmaceutical ADHD interventions. Aerobic exercise produces immediate and substantial increases in dopamine. Exercising before work or school can improve i
attention, working memory and cognitive flexibility πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Here are some other lifestyle changes that can help:

πŸ“± Reducing digital overstimulation by having boundaried screen time and eliminating screens two hours before bed πŸ›Œ

🌳 Nature exposure β€” 20 minutes of outdoor time in a natural environment produces improvements in concentration 🧠

🍬 Elimination of refined sugar and high-glycaemic foods πŸ₯€

🫘 Protein at every meal β€” particularly at breakfast 🍳

😴 Consistent sleep routines in a dark, cool environment πŸŒƒ

The ADHD brain deserves more than just medication.
