Working to help promote natural and sustainable healthcare through the use of ‘good science' and 'good law’. ANH-Intl is a global non-governmental organisation promoting natural and sustainable approaches to health and environmental care. Through our work, with its key focus on Europe (www.anh-europe.org) and the USA (www.anh-usa.org), we help to shape an appropriate scientific and regulatory fram

ework that encourages increased adoption of natural and sustainable approaches to healthcare. Our mission, by working with a diverse cross-section of society, including health professionals, companies, consumers and political representatives, is to help reduce the burden of chronic, degenerative diseases that lead to a unnecessary loss of quality of life and threaten to cripple healthcare systems and economies. We also focus on evaluating the health and environmental impact of food production systems, in the process identifying those that are most sustainable yet are capable of satisfying the needs of our planet’s growing population. As a means of raising awareness of the issues, we engage in education, legal support and advocacy to help improve consumer engagement and freedom of choice as well as removing barriers to trade in products and services integral to natural and sustainable healthcare. The organisation was founded in 2002 by Robert Verkerk PhD, an internationally acclaimed expert in sustainability, who has headed the organisation since its start. Through its work particularly in Europe and the US, ANH-Intl works to accomplish its diverse mission through its unique application of ‘good science’ and good law’.

What if healthcare did more than manage illness?

What if we built a system that valued nutrition, prevention, lifestyle, and root-cause thinking alongside the tools of conventional medicine?

A system where patients had access to transparent information, more choices, and the ability to be active participants in decisions about their own health.

At Alliance for Natural Health, we believe a healthier future starts by asking better questions and protecting your right to make informed choices about your health.

So we want to hear from you:

If you could change ONE thing about healthcare, what would it be?

For decades, concerns about putting mercury-containing amalgam into people’s mouths were routinely dismissed. Now the US is encouraging Medicaid programmes to phase out the use of amalagam (mercury) fillings joining multiple other countries stopping the use of silver fillings.

At ANH Intl, we believe you deserve access to information, transparency and the freedom to make the health choices that are right for you and your family.

When dementia treatment dominates the headlines, the conversation invariably turns to the next drug. Yet some of the most powerful opportunities to prevent the development of dementia may lie in much simpler interventions.

How about a brisk walk. Research has shown that just 13 minutes of continuous moderate-to-vigorous movement is linked to a 72% lower dementia risk.

That's powerful medicine in anyone's book - naturally!

What if your body has been warning you for years?

Tired all the time? Brain fog? Poor sleep? Aching joints? Digestive problems? Low motivation?

Easy to blame on getting older, stress or simply being busy.

But what if they're also telling you to look deeper?

Chronic low-grade inflammation can simmer quietly in the background long before a diagnosable condition appears. And it's implicated across many of the chronic diseases that dominate modern healthcare.

The important question isn't simply:

“How do I get rid of the symptom?”

It's:

“Why is my body still sounding the alarm?”

After more than 30 years without prescription medication, ANH founder Rob Verkerk PhD checked the common side effects before taking allopurinol.

What happened next left him asking some uncomfortable questions about adverse drug reactions, individual susceptibility and just how informed informed consent really is.

This is a question worth asking about glyphosate.

An influential Roundup safety paper has been retracted after undisclosed Monsanto involvement in its preparation was revealed.

Now two more glyphosate safety papers face scrutiny over ghostwriting allegations.

It proves transparency matters.

Because when apparently independent science helps shape regulation, hidden corporate involvement isn't a footnote.

It's information regulators — and the public — need to know.

Trust isn't created by telling people to trust the science.

It's created by making science worthy of trust.

Scientists tested 39 commonly used sweeteners to see what happened when they came into contact with different types of bacteria found in the human gut.

Around three-quarters changed the growth of at least one of the bacteria found in our guts tested.

The data challenges a very common assumption:

Take out the sugar and calories = make it healthier.

Our bodies are far more complicated than that.

Every time we eat, we're also interacting with trillions of microbes living inside us — and we're only beginning to understand how sugar alternatives affect them.

So perhaps the next time something says "ZERO SUGAR" on the packet, there's another question worth asking:

What's in it instead?

Buried beneath one of the most bitter scientific controversies of the last 30 years was another question.

Could the gut be involved in autism?

In 1998, Wakefield and colleagues reported gastrointestinal abnormalities in a small group of children with neurodevelopmental regression.

That paper was subsequently retracted.

But the question about the link between poor gut health and autism didn't disappear.

Fast-forward nearly three decades.

Researchers report recurring differences in the microbiota of autistic people and explore possible connections involving microbial metabolites, immune signalling, inflammation and the integrity of the gut barrier.

There are still major unanswered questions.

But it raises a fascinating question about science itself.

When a scientist becomes associated with a deeply controversial— and subsequently retracted — claim...

should we throw out every other question they asked too?

Science advances by testing questions.

Not deciding which questions we're allowed to ask and discuss.

What if all the questions being asked about reducing the load on healthcare systems, social care and age care aren't the right questions?

What if we need to rewrite the rules and ask different questions?

Instead of focusing on managing disease and mitigating the associated risks we look at how to create health so that the load on creaking healthcare systems is reduced.

Rather than extending life and spending it in poor health we extend the amount of life we spend in health?

It's time to ask different questions and change our focus to what health looks like not how to pay for more of the same.

More children are developing obesity, anxiety and poor health. Perhaps the most important question isn't what's wrong with today's children.

It's "what's changed about the world we've built around them".

Before you answer, consider this.

Children don't design food systems.

They don't write advertising policies.

They don't decide what's sold in supermarkets.

They don't shape towns, schools or digital platforms.

Adults do

That's where prevention begins.
