This week is - This is My Place.

Did you know a local Charity F6IT (pronounced fit) is supported by Children in Motion and was founded by Anel. 🤩

F6IT provides fun, inclusive and accessible sports and recreational activities for children and young people with additional needs and/or disabilities to enjoy together with their families and friends.

F6IT's tagline is "A Place Where I Fit" and we think it aligns well with the theme for - This Is My Place.

The wonders of AI, and why it won't replace physiotherapy....

- AI images are fun and can bring out the best of ourselves (!) and others, but children's physiotherapy focuses primarily on development and function, not cosmesis
- AI might be able to provide you with a possible diagnosis for your baby or child but it can't listen to your experiences, or provide compassion, empathy and reassurance
- AI might be able to provide you with a possible management plan but it can't execute it with hands-on support, adjustment and motivation.

AI is an important technological development in healthcare, and I look forward to working in partnership with it to provide my patients with the best options.

What is a Baby MOT? 👶🏽

Parenting a newborn raises so many questions ......

Is my baby getting a flat head?
Should my baby be rolling by now?
Is my baby's hip click normal?

A baby MOT is a top-to-toe assessment of your baby's posture, joints, movements and early development.

Specialist physiotherapy can provide reassurance, advice and education, to hopefully put some of those questions to bed for one less worry for you 😴

Best foot forward 👣
Who doesn't love baby feet?! But they are literally my favourite specialist subject if Mastermind ever comes calling!

I spent 2 days last week attending the Manchester International Clubfoot Conference, and hearing the latest research and advances from inspirational clinicians and speakers from around the globe 🌍. Everyday's a school day in the life of a physio.

Whilst working in Clubfoot clinics for over a decade, I've seen THOUSANDS of baby feet of all shapes and sizes!

Today is World Clubfoot Day 👣
I've had the privilege of treating children with Clubfoot, and supporting their families through the Ponseti management for more than a decade.
Dr. Ponseti's legacy lives on through all the clinicians now trained in this method around the world.

Whilst a lone clinician cannot treat structural Clubfoot, I can provide assessment, diagnosis and appropriate advice for many baby/ child foot presentations.
