I know that many of you want to feel calmer
But I’m going to let you into a secret… being calm all of the time isn’t really the goal
Because life isn’t calm...
🌊There are difficult decisions to make
🌊Relationships that challenge us
🌊Supporting our kids as they navigate their challenges
🌊Work pressures
🌊Financial worries
🌊Disappointments
🌊Uncertainty
There are also things that require us to step outside our comfort zone...
💪🏻Starting something new
💪🏻Putting ourselves out there
💪🏻Being seen
💪🏻Taking a risk
💪🏻Doing something simply because we want to
Understanding my nervous system and learning to listen to my body hasn’t given me a life where I don’t experience any stress.
It has given me more capacity to live my life when stress shows up…
It’s helped me make difficult decisions in relationships
It’s helped me support my children through some really challenging situations
It’s helped me understand and work with my ADHD rather than constantly fighting against myself
It’s helped me run a business and keep putting myself out there even when that feels uncomfortable
And sometimes it means noticing that I need to spend an afternoon lying on a beach and actually letting myself do that!
Calm isn’t the destination
The destination is having enough space within ourselves to choose...
To rest when we need to rest
To act when we need to act
To say no
To say yes
To take the risk
To have the difficult conversation
To change our minds
To trust ourselves
To live ❤️
What would having more of that space make possible for you?
