As a 47 year old, pre menopausal woman, I am well aware of how important it is to add in strength training to my routine in order to support muscle mass and bone density as I get older 💪🏻
So in January, one of my intentions was to support this by joining my friend Lorna’s strength training membership
What I didnt account for along the way was the belly laughs that I would get from Lorna’s unique style of teaching. She makes the 30 min sessions fly by and you dont realise how much you are working/sweating because you are laughing so hard most of the time 🤣
Lorna’s sessions are the polar opposite to mine - where I promote relaxation and calm and acceptance, Lorna is hyping you up to push yourself that bit harder and challenge yourself to get stronger. And we need both of these ends of the spectrum at times. Higher intensity exercise helps us to meet stress in a way that is manageable and healthy, strength training increases our capacity for challenge.
It is all about balance! We also need to know how to relax, both our body and our mind in order to recover and restore the body and to be able to be more calm and grounded. I know that my Happy Healthy members know all about this!
So I wanted to add a session to the Happy Healthy Membership that incorporates weights for beginners and I have asked Lorna to make a video for us in the membership to introduce this to you so that you can bring it into your practice if you want to.
