Meet Lisa

Lisa came to Pilates when she had her children. Like so many women, her body had changed and she was looking for something that felt right. What she found was something she hadn't expected: not just a form of exercise, but a way of moving with real intention, understanding her body, and feeling stronger from the inside out. She loved it enough to train as an instructor, not because it seemed like a logical career step, but because she wanted to share what it had done for her. That is exactly what she brings to Pilates here at the studio in Fordingbridge.

The class is listed as intermediate, but that word can be misleading. It is not about difficulty. It is about already having some understanding of how to connect to your core and engage it properly before you move. When you get that right, everything changes. Your posture improves, your movements become more controlled, and your body starts to feel more capable in everyday life, not just during the session itself.

I am so pleased to let you all know that Run Fit Fordingbridge has been shortlisted as a finalist for Independent Business of the Year in the 2026 Business Awards . It's really gratifying to be recognised alongside so many other fabulous independent Fordingbridge businesses.

Thanks to you all, what we've built is more than a fitness studio.

It's small group training, run coaching, sports massage and therapy, with a community who turn up for themselves and for each other.

We all have mental health, and it's just as important to look after it as it is our physical health. But I truly believe that because it's a less visible aspect of our wellbeing, it's something we often don't give a lot of intentional support.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, my blog post is all about practical, research backed things that genuinely help. Whether you are not feeling at your best right now, or simply want to find some simple things you can do to keep you feeling well, I think you will find it helpful.

Taking action looks different for everyone. Sometimes it's a conversation. Sometimes it's asking for help. And sometimes it's simply giving yourself permission to stop for a while — to rest properly, to be looked after.
