Hello, I am Martina and I am a passionate believer in the body's ability to heal itself, if given the right tools. From early years I watched her grandmother as she tended to her allotment and cooked with home grown fruit and vegetables and prepared tea and ointments from herbs grown in her garden. Growing up in the Czech republic on a small holding meant that most of my spare time was spent tendi

ng to the vegetable patch or the animals. This meant that I learned first hand not only that it's hard work but also that the benefits greatly outweigh the work. Daily meals were prepared using vegetables grown in the garden; where we also grew vegetables and grains used to feed the animals. Cooking with my mother and father were favorite past times (especially around Christmas time). It was these special moments that prompted me to study cookery in Melbourne Australia, where I gained certificate in Cookery. This was however, only part of my dream and after moving to Britain I became very interested in the nutritional benefits of specific foods. With the rising amount of convenience foods, crash diets and sugar consumption it was clear to me that many health complaints could be resolved by wholesome and nutritionally rich diet. I studied at the prestigious College of Naturopathic Medicine where I gained qualification as Nutritional therapist. I am a fully insured member of British Association of Nutritional Therapists (BANT) and Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I had a fantastic time speaking with the Fuego Display Team this Saturday. ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

We talked about power, the power to perform the incredible moves these gymnasts make look effortless, the power to keep going through 3+ hour training sessions, and the power to support their bodies whilst enjoying the sport they love.

Food choices can either support those goals or make them harder to achieve. We focused on the ways nutrition can help fuel performance, energy, concentration and recovery, without over-complicating things.

What impressed me most was how engaged the gymnasts were. They asked thoughtful questions, showed genuine interest and were keen to understand how food can help them get the most from both their training and everyday lives.

Thank you to everyone at Fuego Gymnastics for such a warm welcome. It was a pleasure to spend time with such a dedicated and enthusiastic group, and I'm already looking forward to the next visit! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ
