We are a thriving independent health food shop in the vibrant village of Forest Row, nestled in the heart of the Ashdown Forest. We not only offer an extensive range of high quality Organic and Biodynamic foods, since we opened back in 1971 we have become the heart and social hub of the local community. Our Product Range Includes Local Eggs, Sourdough Breads, Fresh Organic and Biodynamic Fruit and Veg, Diary, Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten-free Products, Beans, Seeds and Pulses, Healthy Snacks. Get your carving knives out, Seasons folk! Our pumpkin carving competition is back, and by popular demand this year there’s a kids’ category AND a grown-ups’ category. So yes, adults, this is your moment to finally out-carve the children. 👻

How to enter:
1️⃣ Carve a pumpkin (spooky, silly, gloriously wonky, all welcome)
2️⃣ Take a photo of it
3️⃣ Email your photo to us, or bring it into the shop (the photo, not the pumpkin)

Proof we went: one photo, taken right at the end, once we’d finally stopped talking long enough to remember phones exist 🤦‍♀️

Main takeaways....

🌱 Producers we already trust are steadily innovating and solving real problems. Longstanding suppliers gave us even more reason to stock them, we loved all the new products, ideas, flavours and innovations aimed at things our customers ask us about, from the likes of Biona Meridian Foods Infinity Foods Co-operative Ltd Infinity Foods Wholesale Suma Wholefoods and more 💚

🧑‍🍳 We fell in love with new makers who know their food inside out, can name every ingredient’s origin and its nutritional value off the top of their head, because they made it themselves 🫶

💪 Protein was everywhere, and it was loud. Big bold numbers on pack after pack, the theme of the whole show floor. We’re aware too, it’s just already sitting in the food before anyone processes it out and puts it back in with a label on. That’s what happens when nothing’s been sprayed or stripped 🥦 The nutrients are already in the food. Because it’s food. That’s how it’s always worked.

🌊 One stand showed off packaging made from dissolvable seaweed. Brilliant, we loved it, though we don’t use plastic packaging, so this one’s for the rest of the industry to catch up on, but that didn’t stop us watching the demo twice 🤓

🍫 Some proper gorgeous new finds. Sugar-free sweet treats, healthy snacking vibes aplenty and beautiful nutritious foods that’ll elevate your dinner table 🍽️
