✨ Happy 5th Birthday Luceo Aesthetics ✨

Today marks 5 amazing years of Luceo Aesthetics — and what an incredible journey it has been! 🫶

Our 5th year has also brought some very special personal milestones:

🎉 I celebrated my 60th birthday last October

💍 My daughter, Lisa, Luceo’s Marketing Manager, became Mrs Edwards in February 2026 💒💗

And now, some important news to share…

After over 41 years in nursing and 5 amazing years building Luceo, I have made the bittersweet decision to retire in December 2026.

This wasn’t an easy decision, but the time feels right to begin a new chapter and join my husband in retirement.

To all my wonderful patients — thank you. Thank you for trusting me, supporting my small business, allowing me to be part of your journeys, and for the many friendships that have grown along the way. Helping you feel confident, refreshed, and the best version of yourself has been my absolute privilege.

📖 My diary is already filling quickly for the remainder of 2026, so if you’d like to see me before I retire, please book your appointments well in advance to avoid disappointment.

With heartfelt thanks.

Absolutely delighted that this legislation is finally being introduced. It’s also very encouraging that the government will be addressing concerns regarding poor training too. All for patient safety 🙌🏻

🛡 People considering non‑surgical cosmetic or medical treatments will benefit from stronger safety protections under new legislation introduced by the Scottish Government.

💉 The new regulations will require these procedures to be delivered only in premises that meet strict hygiene and safety standards and, where appropriate, healthcare professionals are available.

🚫 Consumers will also be protected by new offences preventing procedures being carried out in unregulated or unsuitable premises, and being offered to anyone under the age of 18.

📖 Additional provisions will be put in place using secondary legislation to address concerns around training and education. This is important to allow those who are highly skilled and qualified but do not have a medical degree to provide treatments.

❓ I know many local businesses have been worried about the impact this Bill will have on them, so I’m pleased they will be able to access free guidance from Business Gateway and Find Business Support to help them adapt to the new requirements.

💛 For me, this has always been about improving public safety. This industry is here to stay, so it was imperative that we put in place provisions to regulate it.

‼️ 2 YEARS IN PRISON ‼️ ARE YOU SELLING OR SUPPLYING UNLICENSED BOTULINUM TOXIN?

MHRA and Environmental Health Criminal Enforcement UNIT are active across SCOTLAND will be ramping up activity to catch individuals supplying and selling unregulated botulinum toxin.

**Why Has the Law Changed Around the Sale and Supply of Anti-Wrinkle Treatments in Scotland?**

It is illegal for any prescribing healthcare professional to work outside of a Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS)-registered clinic when providing aesthetic treatments in Scotland. If you are not attending an HIS-registered aesthetics clinic and are being supplied or sold anti-wrinkle treatments or products, the individual selling you these products is breaking the law. They could face up to 2 years in prison under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012.

**Why Was This Not Illegal Before?**

It has always been illegal in the UK to supply and sell unregulated medicines, as per the regulations surrounding the Human Medicines Act. Yet, enforcement of this law has been insufficient, and the activity went unpoliced for years.

Many non-medically qualified injectors in the UK may not fully realise that they are breaching regulations. These individuals facilitate the avoidance of face-to-face consultations with prescribing professionals and often directly supply and sell low-cost, untested, unregulated, and imported products, which is illegal.

**Why Is Enforcement Happening Now?**

Enforcement is being ramped up due to a public health crisis triggered by an exponential rise in non-medical injectors offering unregulated treatments. This surge has been directly linked to a substantial increase in botulism cases being reported in hospitals across the UK.

The UK Government and its agencies are now prioritising enforcement of existing laws to prevent the public health situation from spiraling further out of control. There is a concerted effort to apply maximum legal penalties to those breaking the law in the interest of protecting patient safety.

**Why Are Some Products Banned in the UK?**

❌ Products originating from countries such as South Korea, including well-known brands like Botulax, reNTox, Innotox, and Toxpia, are not authorised for sale in the UK. This is because they:

❌ Lack approval from UK regulatory bodies (e.g., the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency – MHRA).

❌ Are often untested, unregulated, and may pose serious risks to patient health.

By strictly enforcing the Human Medicines Act 2012, the Governments of the UK and Police aim to significantly reduce public exposure to dangerous, imported, unregulated products.

This proactive approach will help prevent injuries and complications caused by the injection of these unauthorised substances.

Enhanced enforcement safeguards public health by ensuring that all aesthetic treatments comply with legal and MHRA standards, thereby reducing the risks posed by untested and unsafe products.

✨ Neck Rejuvenation ✨

This patient wanted to improve skin texture, hydration, and firmness in their neck area.

We think we delivered!

We used the amazing Fillmed BioNutrineck protocol, delivered using the nanosoft needle to ensure comfort, combined with a couple of sessions of medical microneedling to stimulate collagen and elastin.

The results? Wow 🪄
🌟 Smoother and brighter skin
🌟 Reduced crepey skin
🌟 Noticeable lift and firmness

To maintain these results, we’ve introduced quality skincare from the Clinicare range — because professional treatments and daily skin health go hand-in-hand for long-lasting results.

Choose who you get your information from wisely. Don’t be taken in by influencers and stupid tik tok reels.

SPF is safe
Not wearing SPF is NOT SAFE
Using Sunbeds is NOT SAFE

The research is there to prove it, so don’t put yourself at risk of melanoma or other skin cancers just for a tan.

Thank you
Your SPF50 wearing aesthetic nurse 🥰

‼ SKCIN were asked to contribute to an article published by The Sun today addressing anti-SPF supporters and misinformation - here’s what we had to say:

“The rise in anti-SPF supporters, driven by misinformation on social media is a mammoth concern. This damaging content is influencing a younger generation who are highly susceptible to sun damage and is further fuelled by tanning trends and tan acceleration products. Sadly, such misinformation is without doubt going to cost lives.

As a charity that has worked tirelessly for almost 20 years now to raise awareness of prevention following the loss of a loved one to melanoma, this is incredibly sad to witness.

The facts are clear. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the UK and it is 90% preventable by using sun protection measures. The use of SPF 30+ broad spectrum sunscreen when the UV Index is 3 or above is a critical prevention method as well as covering up with clothing, including a sun hat and sunglasses–and seeking shade during peak UV hours.”

Despite the above - there are also a number of other factors contributing to the consistent rise in skin cancer cases…

“Firstly we are still seeing the affects of a generation that knew-little-to-nothing about skin cancer causes, risk factors and prevention measures up until relatively recently. Skin cancer can take many years to develop and that risk increases with age due to cumulative exposure and damage done in our younger years. The boom in package holidays is still taking its toll and with an ageing population, the ongoing rise in cases is inevitable.

Secondly, the increase in awareness of the signs and symptoms of skin cancer is thankfully driving people to seek medical attention, resulting in more cases diagnosed in their early stages.

However, the increase in sunbed use (particularly in the younger generation) is also sadly fuelling the rapid rise in cases–highlighting the important role of awareness and education in combatting this largely preventable disease”.

🧡 Education is key! Prevention and early detection SAVES LIVES!

🩺 Meet the Practitioner
Hello! I’m Angie, the face behind Luceo Aesthetics 👋

I’ve been a nurse for over 41 years, and now focus on aesthetic medicine. I’m an independent prescriber and run a fully regulated HIS-registered clinic, offering evidence-based skin treatments with safety, integrity, and natural results at the heart of everything I do.

Outside the clinic… I’m a proud wife, mum, and granny! 💕

And then there’s Polly 🐾🐶, my loyal maltipoo. She’s my doorbell 🤣. She loves to say hello to all my patients.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me outdoors — running, cycling or walking. I do have a quieter creative side too… paper quilling is my favourite way to unwind with a cuppa.

Thanks for following Luceo — and for trusting me with your skin health and confidence. 💗

💗 Real Rosacea Results – 1 Year On 💗

This lovely patient first came to clinic a year ago with severe papulopustular rosacea.

🔹 We began with Dermalux LED to gently calm the skin
🔹 Introduced medical-grade Obagi skincare to restore the barrier, along with daily SPF 50
🔹 Referred to GP for Helicobacter pylori testing (positive!) — triple therapy antibiotics cleared pustules
🔹 Continued skin support with off-label Anti-wrinkle + NCTF microneedling to reduce inflammation and oil gland activity

✨ Her skin is now radiant, with dramatically reduced flushing, better tone and texture — and above all, improved confidence 💗

Rosacea management takes time, a personalised plan, and sometimes teamwork with your GP — but the results are worth it.
