A huge congratulations to Simon, Anthea, Wendy, Megan, Fiona, Lisa and Lexi for completing Pretty Muddy at the weekend in support of Cancer Research UK.

The team took on the mud, obstacles and plenty of laughs along the way, all for a fantastic cause. Thanks to the incredible generosity of family, friends, patients and our local community, they have now raised over Β£2,000! πŸŽ‰

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and helped make such a difference.

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work.

If you think Pulmonary Rehabilitation could benefit you, please speak to a member of our clinical team or ask for more information at your next appointment.

πŸ’œ As we come to the end of our Dementia Awareness Month spotlight, we wanted to finish by highlighting the incredible impact that music can have for people living with dementia. πŸ’œ

Music can help spark memories, lift mood, reduce anxiety, encourage connection and bring comfort - even when words may become difficult. 🎢

Today, we’re sharing information about the local Music CafΓ©, alongside helpful information on how music can support those living with dementia. We would also like to share some wonderful tips and advice from Lochside ConnectionsοΏΌ about how to be Dementia Friendly.

A huge thank you to everyone who has engaged with our posts throughout the month, shared local resources, and helped keep the conversation around dementia awareness going. πŸ’œ

Please feel free to continue sharing any local groups, support services or ideas that may help others in our community.

Keep your eyes peeled for next months Spotlight On…

πŸ’œ Dementia Spotlight – Support for Carers πŸ’œ

Caring for someone living with dementia can be rewarding, but it can also be emotionally and physically challenging at times. It’s important to remember that carers need support too. πŸ’œ

As part of our continuing dementia awareness spotlight, we would like to highlight the fantastic support available from the Angus Carers Centre and local Community Link Workers.

Whether you are caring for a partner, parent, family member or friend, help and advice is available β€” from emotional support and respite information, to carers groups, practical help and wellbeing activities.

Many people don’t even realise they are classed as a carer, but if you regularly help support someone with their day-to-day life, you are not alone and support is there for you too. πŸ’œ

You can find out more here:
https://www.facebook.com/share/1ANxpamsRh/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Or we have many leaflets in our waiting room too οΏΌ

Please feel free to share this post so that more people in our community know where support can be found. πŸ’œ
