I love how the work I do can help people out of black and white thinking into allowing both or more, ideas, feelings, emotions, to exist at the very same time.

This can move us out of inner conflict into a more peaceful relationship with our internal world.

So many sumptuous fractal textures in one eyeball full. Of course, a vid can never do it justice.

Science so far suggests that simply looking at fractals calms down our brains. Like a key in a lock, our brain recognises these patterns and automatically starts to down regulate our bodies.

Add to this the soothing effects of the colour green and we’re onto a winner.

If ever we needed ‘proof’ that we are part of nature, it’s this.

And calming our fried nervous systems sometimes couldn’t be simpler.

Perhaps we just don’t need complicated protocols and interventions? (Though respectfully some of us sometimes do, been there!).

More of this please! Imagine if doctors prescribed ‘French Sundays’ for us as a practical means to stave off burnout? 🌟

The idea of being deliberately unproductive is certainly tempting. The only concern is that you might enjoy it too much, writes Polly Hudson

My belly was tightened with suspense watching this little marvel. What skill! But the risk was there too…

How many times have you made it…just?

I find it remarkable how human beings keep going, determinedly, with all our pain, and difficulty, to emerge with real skill like this little snail.

Thanks for the reflection tiny one 🌟🧡

And thanks to on Instagram for taking the time to capture this moment.

Already there is a tinge of freshness in the air! Bookings are open 🧡🧡🧡

I love offering these sessions! This year I have been unable to offer as many I would like and I’ve missed it, so it’s lovely to be able to mark near the close of 2026 with a forest bathing session.

As ever, expect new and favourite optional invitations; solo time; sharing time with likeminded others; tea and a little homemade treat, and perhaps a little creative twist…

‘Forest bathing’ is still gaining popularity as another branch of nature connection, and self-care, or natural mindfulness; or in my take, as some focused time to explore our being part of nature.

Previous participants have enjoyed slowing down and have found that this has changed their experience of future walks:

“I experienced connection with nature on a much deeper level, especially your guidance for slowing down. For me that’s the crucial thing to be able to absorb all the goodness from nature. My nervous system reset”.

I have one space opening up which is pay by donation. This is for short or longer term support.

The session will be online, there will be a few different set slots to choose from.

These are an opportunity for me to pay forward the many instances of kindness and generosity I’ve been gifted on my own journey. No agenda, no hidden costs.

A free 20 minute intro chat will be had before being granted sessions to check you are eligible, to explain how it works, and to check I am the right person to support you.

Please drop me a line if interested or share with someone you think might benefit.

A lovely article by the wonderful
Forest Healing (thank you Hugh 💚) that encapsulates so much about why I do the work I do and what it means. ‘Attention restoration’ theory is helpful as well as being an accurate term!

We restore the ability to pay attention when we slow down, and the natural world helps us to do that wonderfully, as we are part of it, our brains are a perfect fit.

My next group session is on Saturday 13th June as part of the Moray Walking & Outdoor Festival. I also offer bespoke 1:1 sessions to explore more deeply.

See you in the woods?

In a noisy, hurried world, it can be surprisingly hard to rest in the present moment. Our attention is tugged in several directions at once: screens, deadlines, messages, noise, and the quiet pressure to keep up. Nature mindfulness offers a gentler way back. At its heart, it is the practice of payin
