Coughs usually clear up within 3 weeks. To help we suggest resting, plenty fluids and painkillers such as ibuprofen or paracetamol if suitable.

If you use emollients such as creams, sprays and lotions that contain paraffin, butters and oils, these can act as an accelerant when exposed to naked flames, so the fire risks when smoking are greater.

Reduce the risks:
o Never smoke in bed.
o Take care when cooking with gas or electric hobs.
o Do not sit close to open fires, gas fires or halogen heaters.
o Wash your clothing and bedding daily at the highest temperature recommended.

We’re running a Halloween colouring competition throughout October! With a cauldron full of spooky treats to be won, be sure to get your entry in by Thursday 29th October. We’ll pick two winners on Friday 30th October, one under 5 years old and one 5+, just in time for trick or treating on the Saturday!

It's Sepsis Awareness Month!

Sepsis kills 11 million people each year (WHO).

Symptoms include:

🔸Fever or shivering
🔸Confusion
🔸Shortness of breath
🔸Rash that does not fade when pressed
🔸Extreme discomfort
🔸Sweaty skin

"Seek medical care as soon as possible when an infection is not getting better.
Sepsis, blood stream infections, surgical site infections and others can be prevented with hand hygiene and other infection prevention measures". (WHO)
