πŸ”Ά AMBER HEAT HEALTH ALERT πŸ”Ά

An amber heat health alert is in effect from 10am on 26th May until 5pm on 28th May across the South West

Some people are at higher risk of becoming seriously unwell when temperatures rise.

It's worth being aware that anyone can become unwell if they get too hot.
Please follow this guidance so that you are prepared for hot weather and can take action to cool yourself and your home.

Please check in on relatives, friends, and neighbours who may be more at risk and share this information with them.

β˜€οΈ Keep out of the sun at the hottest time of the day, between 11am and 3pm
πŸŒ… If you are going to do a physical activity (for example exercise or walking the dog), plan to do these during times of the day when it is cooler such as the morning or evening
🏠 Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in rooms that face the sun
πŸ‘’ If you do go outside, cover up with suitable clothing such as an appropriate hat and sunglasses, seek shade and apply sunscreen
drink plenty of fluids and limit your alcohol intake
πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ Check on family, friends and neighbours who may be at higher risk of becoming unwell, and if you are at higher risk, ask them to do the same for you
πŸ˜“ Know the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke and what to do if you or someone else has them

Much more detailed information about staying taking care in hot weather is available here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/beat-the-heat-hot-weather-advice/beat-the-heat-staying-safe-in-hot-weather

❗❗ YELLOW HEAT WARNING πŸ”†

A yellow heat warning has been issued for the South West from 2pm on Friday 22nd May until 5pm on Wednesday 27th May.

It's worth being aware that anyone can become unwell if they get too hot.

Please follow this guidance so that you are prepared for hot weather and can take action to cool yourself and your home. And please check in on relatives, friends, and neighbours who may be more at risk.

If so, you might be interesting in testing out a new treatment. You need to be ready to stop drinking, or you might have already stopped.

The study involves having 3 infusions of the new treatment, alongside psychological support.
