High Street shop challenges...
This is a lovely image isn't it?
You get this in a leaflet that has been deposited in a product we sell by the manufacturer.
It effectively tries to get you to buy direct from the manufacturer and abandon the very shop you bought the product in in the first place by offering ypou points and free gifts that we cannot offer because we are not a manufacturer.
In other words, the supplier we use, who we spend a lot of time educating our shoppers about how good their products are is actually trying to get you to buy from them and abandon US - and we unwittingly help them because they have never explained they put these leaflets in the product packs.
How underhand is that?
But that appears to be the modern way. No loyalty, just grab customers to drive profits up at the expense of hardworking and honest bricks and mortar health stores.

What a handsome row of shops we have here in Garstang!
I was about to unlock our lovely green door when I took a few steps back just to look and also to get some sunshine on the other side of the street.
It is a most perfect Lancastrian morning and when the sky is blue and the sun is shining is there anywhere fairer and more delightful than our beautiful green and pleasant land?
We grumble and groan sometimes and we definitely forget that we are blessed with riches money cannot buy in this country.
And we should be proud of our British culture, politeness, tolerance and Great British ingenuity.
We truly are lions....led by donkeys.
So come on my fellow Lancastrians and Brits of all colours and creeds, let's stand up and celebrate in this week of Shakespeare's birth (and my daughter's! 😃), all the things we have to be grateful for and proud of and let's start putting the Great back into our wonderful country.

BEFORE and AFTER pictures of a patient with acute lower back pain.
Before shows what we call an antalgic posture. His body is trying to move pressure off the injury.

"We're going to put you out of business!"
Some years ago a person connected high up in management to one of Garstang's local supermarkets came into our lovely shop.
They looked round all our shelves.
Then went up to the counter and said to our member of staff, "We're going to put you out of business!"
And out they went....
That's a simple and quite unpleasant example of the pressure all independent stores feel from corporate powerhouses.
There is room for us all and of course, we all want a town full of character and intrigue.
So thank you to all our supporters and thank you to all the hardworking independents of our town who make this place so lovely.
