💜 Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month 💗

This month, let’s talk about the five main gynaecological cancers: ovarian, womb, cervical, v***al and vaginal cancer.

Knowing the signs and getting changes checked can make an important difference. Symptoms can include unusual vaginal bleeding or discharge, persistent bloating, pelvic or lower abdominal pain, changes around the v***a, or changes that simply don’t feel normal for you.

🌸 Don’t ignore something that feels different. These symptoms can have many causes and do not necessarily mean cancer, but the NHS advises getting concerning symptoms checked by a GP.

🎗️ Remember your cervical screening appointments. Cervical screening can help prevent cervical cancer, but it does not check for ovarian, womb, v***al or vaginal cancer.

Jess is a dedicated and valued social care worker from our preston team 💛

Here are some words Jess has shared with us "I really enjoy working here because every day is different, and I have the opportunity to make a positive difference in people’s lives. It is very rewarding because I get to support people in their own homes, helping them to remain as independent and comfortable as possible. My favourite part of the job is the people. Building relationships with the people I care for and knowing that I can brighten someone’s day, even in a small way, is what makes my job so special. It’s lovely to see the trust you build over time and to know that the support you provide genuinely matters. I also really value being part of such a supportive team, we look out for one another and are always willing to help when someone needs support, all the girls were very welcoming when I first started shadowing including me letting me get hands on and being there if I was struggling as I am new to care and the office was helpful giving me the training I need and support."

Happy 22-Year Work Anniversary, Genna! 🌸

Today, everyone at MasterStaff would like to celebrate an incredible milestone 22 years of dedication, loyalty and commitment.

Genna joined MasterStaff at just 20 years old and has been a valued member of the team ever since. Now, as our Finance Director and Payroll Manager, her knowledge, hard work and attention to detail play a vital role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

After more than two decades with us, as Genna herself stated today, she’s officially part of the furniture! 😂 And don’t worry, Genna we’re sure we can squeeze another 22 years out of you yet! 😉

Joking aside, we are incredibly grateful for your continued loyalty, dedication and everything you have contributed to MasterStaff over the years. 22 years is an incredible achievement and certainly a milestone worth celebrating.

💜 International Overdose Awareness Day – 31 August 💜

Today, we remember those we have lost to overdose, stand alongside those who are struggling, and work together to reduce stigma, raise awareness and prevent further loss of life.

Overdose can affect anyone. It can happen accidentally, and with knowledge, compassion and support, we can help save lives.

💜 Be compassionate — overdose is not a choice. Everyone deserves kindness, dignity and respect.

💬 Start a conversation — talking openly about overdose and drug use can save lives. Check in with someone, listen without judgement and offer support.

🤝 Support each other — informed, connected and supportive communities are stronger and safer for everyone.

If someone may have overdosed, call 999 immediately, ask for an ambulance, put them in the recovery position if appropriate, give naloxone if you have it, and stay with them while monitoring their breathing.

If you’re worried about your own or someone else’s drug use, help is available. Speak to your GP or search for NHS drug and alcohol support.

No judgement. Just support. Together, we can save lives. 💜
