Recently had a Bowen session?
Don’t forget the aftercare!

• Drink plenty of water&
• Keep gently moving &
• Avoid long periods of sitting still

💦 Water - As a result of Bowen, the body increases blood supply to nerve endings and affects the movement of lymph around the body. The effective functioning of these systems is entirely reliant on sufficient fluids. Fluid intake is therefore essential following a Bowen treatment.

🚶🏻‍♀️Movement - Bowen helps the body to eliminate waste. Getting up and moving on the day of your session, assists with the movement of lymph, around the body. Lymph removes all kinds of debris from the system, as well as moving fluid. It doesn’t have its own pump, so the lymphatic system relies on regular movement and muscular contraction.

Following this simple Bowen aftercare advice, will give your body the best possible opportunity to repair and rebalance.

Small actions - big difference ⭐️

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) can have a real impact on daily life - from discomfort and bloating to ongoing stress and fatigue.

The Bowen Technique offers a gentle, whole-body approach that may help support those living with IBS. By working through the fascia and encouraging relaxation of the nervous system, Bowen aims to help reduce overall tension in the body - something that can play a role in digestive health.

While not a treatment or cure for IBS, Bowen can be a supportive therapy, helping the body find balance and encouraging a sense of calm.

A single Bowen move is small.

But your body doesn’t experience it in isolation.

Fascia connects.

The nervous system communicates.

Everything is linked.

That’s why something subtle might create a wider shift.

So grateful to have been introduced to his work and feel very privileged to now be able to share it with others, as a practitioner and as a Level 1 tutor with College of Bowen Studies 🙌

Today we honour the life and legacy of Tom Bowen.

A man of quiet presence, deep care, and extraordinary dedication to helping others. Tom devoted his life to serving those in need, often working tirelessly, day after day, guided by something far greater than ambition.

This is a combination of original images and respectful AI recreations, shared to honour and highlight Tom’s work.

What he left behind is more than a technique. It is a movement, inspired by a line from one of his favourite quotes:
“Any good that I can do, let me do it now.”

Bowen Therapy has become a living body of work that continues to support, restore, and transform lives around the world.

His approach reminds us that less can be more. That gentleness can be powerful. And that true healing often arises not from force, but from listening… from allowing the body the space to respond in its own time.

Today, we acknowledge not only what Tom Bowen did, but who he was.

A pioneer. A servant. A genius. A man deeply connected to the innate intelligence of the human body.

His legacy lives on through every practitioner, every client, and every moment of stillness where healing unfolds.

Happy Birthday, Thomas Ambrose Bowen

Did you know emotional and psychological stress doesn’t just affect your mind - it affects your fascia too?

Fascia is the body’s connective tissue network, and it responds to stress by tightening and bracing. Over time, that protective tension can show up as stiffness, restriction and physical pain.

Sometimes the ache isn’t just physical
- it’s the body holding onto stress.

The Bowen Technique works gently with the fascial system, helping the body soften, reset and release built-up tension.

Because when the nervous system feels safe, the body can finally let go.

Do you hold emotional stress in your body?

The neck and shoulders are a very common place this can happen.

I was just talking about this to a group of people during a well being workshop - everything in the body works together, so supporting the whole system really matters.

Stress can show up as tension.

Fatigue can affect movement.

Emotions can influence breathing patterns.

The body responds as a whole.

Bowen Therapy works with this integrated system — not isolated parts.

Because the body experiences life as one continuous process.

A lovely evening spent with the ladies at Bearsden Cross Church. Thank you so much for inviting me to speak at the Phoenix Circle tonight 🐦‍🔥🙏🏻

My aim was to introduce some simple, accessible wellbeing practices that support relaxation, mobility and self-care in a safe, natural way. 🙌

I’m passionate about helping people feel more comfortable in their bodies through gentle movement, holistic therapies, breathwork and mindfulness ✨

We spoke about the importance of gentle movement, human connection, hydration and breathwork, and shared a short breathing exercise together.

The ladies also enjoyed a guided hand massage using organic products from 💙🌎

I shared information from and and talked a little about my own journey into complementary therapies and the work I do now — from KCR to massage therapies and the Bowen Technique with .bowen 🙌

I had a script prepared… but true to form I went off on a tangent before the end of the first paragraph - sometimes things flow better when they take a more natural direction 😆🌱👌🏼

We finished the evening with a short mindfulness practice, some interesting questions, and of course a cuppa. 🫖
