Fantastic time away with the fam in ‘Hamsterdam’ 🐹🇳🇱

I came here a few times back in the early noughties, the last time being in 2004, when things were very different.

On that occasion, I remember being so stoned I could barely lift my arm to take another toke… but I kept going anyway.

Looking back, that probably sums up quite a lot about a younger version of myself. Pushing through things because everyone else was, and going along with the crowd.

We do it in so many ways, drinking to excess, partying, work, relationships, expectations, forcing ourselves through things that don’t align with who we really are.

Oh, how times have changed.

Coming back more than 20 years later with my little tribe, teetotal, present and actually remembering the whole trip. 🤎

This year I’ve had the pleasure of holding space by the sea on multiple occasions, each one bringing its own energy and its own vibe. 🌊

Each gathering is curated with care, but no two ever feel quite the same. You can plan the practices and create the space, but you can’t plan what happens when a group of people come together.

The last gathering was a special one.

I recently heard phrase “I am a wave, make me the sea.” And mayba that’s what it’s all about. We arrive as individuals and, for a few hours, become part of something together.

On Friday 4th September we’ll gather at Little Haven one last time this year, closing the evening with an extra special fire ceremony to mark the end of summer. 🔥

I’ve finally landed 🌍so here are some memories from an incredible time at MEDICINE Here are some of the very few photos and videos I took

Facilitating in the Chalice , campsite van life 🚐, discovering lots of cool new music the pagan Irish band may have traumatised me for life 😂☘️), taking part in a 100-person Brazilian samba band 🇧🇷, being in awe of the solar eclipse opening ceremony 🌘, ecstatic dancing , the Chalice in Wonderland tea party (who thought a china cup and a drink of tulsi tea could make a grown man cry so hard? ), lots of brothers and sisters from all over the world and, of course, a strong North East contingent.

The final photo is my feet 👣 which feel like they’ve walked a thousand miles through the Sahara Desert 🌵 , grounding back on North East soil.
