Remember that the main reason we eat and hydrate is to support the millions of functions which our body and brain does to keep us healthy.
But food is also an important cultural language symbolising social connection, heritage and identity - even personal ethics and sustainability. Itâs a way of exploring when travelling. Dipping into different recipes, customs and traditions.
And thatâs important to hold onto when youâre on a GLP-1.
If youâre following someone who is posting âwhat I eat in a dayâ and you canât be sure they are
đ©· enjoying their food
đ©· supporting their long-term health
đ©· supporting their brain and mood
or that theyâre helping you do the same, why are you following them?
A calorie deficit is important but it is not the only consideration if youâre looking to maintain or build health.
Undoing years of diet culture is part of a healthy GLP-1 journey - not the foundation. So hearing someone claim that they forgot to eat, is a red flag đ© not a green one.
