🌿 A little summer update…

What a fantastic season it’s been!
( I’ve been so rubbish at posting on my page.)

My work with teens and tweens has really taken centre stage this year — and it’s been so much fun 🫶

With my tweens, we’ve explored nature , made potions for happiness and used creativity to help us talk.
- even a magical unicorn made an appearance! 🦄

With my teens, we’ve walked side by side , found some calm by learning to tune into nature and created a clear picture of what we really want🌳

Helping young people discover what works for them.

That’s what I love about Solution Focused Therapy.

Rather than getting stuck picking apart the problem, we look forward:

✨ What would better look like?
✨ What’s already working?
✨ What’s the next small step?

And with exam results coming up, there can be a lot of “What now?” for young people.

If results bring anxiety, disappointment or a change of plans, Walk & Talk sessions can give them space to offload, explore their options and work out what they want to happen next.

Because - there is always a way forward! ✨

I’ll be continuing to work with teens, tweens and not forgetting the parents working so hard to support them.

If you’d like to go on my waiting list for September please drop me an email.

Attention parents with teens sitting exams this summer 📣

If your child is anxious, overwhelmed, or going blank in exams… there’s a reason … and often it’s not because they don’t know the answers…

When anxiety rises, the brain shifts into a threat response.

Instead of the thinking part of the brain-responsible for memory, focus, and problem-solving -working at its best, the brain starts prioritising survival.

This can look like:
• Going blank in exams
• Struggling to concentrate or revise
• Overthinking or panicking
• Avoiding studying altogether

It’s not that they don’t know the content.
It’s that their brain is temporarily too overwhelmed to access it.

This is where walk-and-talk therapy can really help 🚶‍♀️🌳🌲 #

For many teenagers, sitting face-to-face and talking about anxiety can feel intense or uncomfortable.

Walking side-by-side:
• Reduces pressure
• Helps regulate the nervous system through movement
• Releases anxious, restless energy
• Makes it easier to talk and think clearly

When the body feels calmer, the brain can start to come back online.

Rather than getting stuck in what’s going wrong, we focus on helping your teen build a clear picture of what they really want to achieve.

Together, we:
• Identify what’s already working (even a little)
• Build small, realistic steps forward
• Help them picture themselves coping well in the exam
• Strengthen confidence through practical strategies

Because when the brain has a clear direction, it’s much easier to move toward it.

Sometimes they don’t need more revision.
They need support to help their brain feel safe enough to perform.

🌅Evening Walk & Talk sessions available after the Easter break. 🌿

To the women that choose change even when change is terrifying…

Today on International Women’s Day I’m thinking about the women I have the privilege of supporting.

The ones who decide they don’t want to just settle for a life that doesn’t quite feel right.

The women who are willing to step into the uncomfortable — not because it’s easy, but because something in them knows things can be different.

Some are making changes for themselves.
Some are making changes for their children.

What I admire most is the courage it takes to show up to therapy and say:

I want something to change.

Solution Focused Therapy is all about describing the outcome… the dream… the version of you that you crave…

What would better look like?
What would be the first small sign things are moving in the right direction?

Because change often begins the moment someone allows themselves to imagine a different future.

These women amaze me with their courage to show up and take control of their precious lives, even when it scares them.

What difference would it make to you if you had an hour to talk freely about how you really feel?

To finally talk about that thing that’s taking up so much headspace…

That thing you can’t share with anyone because you fear their judgement…

Maybe it’s:
frustration towards someone or something…

Or maybe it’s just …

Sadness….
Anger…
Boredom….
That inner yuk that keeps circling….

So many women are stuck holding onto thoughts and feelings that weigh them down…Keeping them in a cycle of stress and anxiety.

What they really crave is to start to make a change.
To take a step in a different direction.

My job as a solution focused therapist is to ask you the questions that lead to change….

🌿👣Walk and talk therapy takes away the awkward and puts us side by side… out in the fresh air and that’s where the magic happens.✨
