🌟 A Wonderful Week of Fun, Music & Movement! 🌟

What a fantastic week we’ve had! 💃🎶

We enjoyed our popular Zumba session with Caroline from Riversmeet Leisure Centre. Caroline joins us fortnightly to get everyone moving, and last week was no exception! There were plenty of smiles, lots of laughter and even a few impressive dance moves! 💃👏

Zumba is a brilliant way to keep active and encourage movement, and the best part is that it can even be enjoyed from a chair. It’s all about getting involved, having fun and enjoying the moment! ❤️

🎵 We were also delighted to welcome Dementia Friendly Gillingham for our monthly Sing a Song of Praise afternoon. Residents enjoyed singing hymns and popular songs together before finishing the afternoon with refreshments and some delicious homemade cake, lovingly baked by our Head Chef. 🍰☕

Dianne and Margaret told us they had a lovely afternoon and are already looking forward to the last Friday of the month, when everyone comes together again with Annie and Keith, who run the Dementia Friendly group.

A huge thank you to Caroline, Annie and Keith for helping make these afternoons so enjoyable. 💕 We can’t wait to do it all again!

✨ Back by Popular Demand! ✨

What a wonderful evening we had at Fern Brook Lodge! 🎶💫

Our residents were treated to a beautiful evening of opera singing with Gigi Strong and her friend. Their wonderful music and performances created a truly special atmosphere, filling the evening with joy, smiles and plenty of memorable moments. ❤️

It was lovely to see everyone sitting back, relaxing and enjoying the music together. 🎵😊

A huge thank you to Gigi and her friend for making the evening so special. We’re already looking forward to welcoming Gigi back again very soon! 🌟

🌟 A lovely morning at Pots Of Gems Pottery! 🎨☕️

There’s a new shop in town, Pots of Gems pottery ... so we thought we’d give it a go, and it certainly did not disappoint! 🥰

We took a trip along and were made to feel so welcome. The ladies and gent each chose a piece to paint, and everyone really enjoyed getting creative. We had frogs 🐸, plates 🍽️ and even a Highland cow 🐮!

Resident Barrie said it was a lovely, relaxing morning and that he’d definitely like to visit again. It was such a peaceful and enjoyable way to spend some time together. 💕🎨

If you’re looking for something a little different to do, we’d definitely recommend giving Pots Of Gems Pottery Café a try!

🌞 Fern Brook Lodge Summer Fayre 🌞

What a wonderful afternoon we had at Fern Brook Lodge for our Summer Fayre! The sun was shining, and we were delighted to welcome our Mayor, Donna Toye, who officially opened the event. 💐

Everyone enjoyed the wonderful sounds of the Two Hats Band, followed by a fantastic performance from the Fern Brook Choir. 🎶🎤

Our Head Chef, Phil, was busy on the barbecue, serving up delicious food while residents, families and members of our local community enjoyed a fantastic array of stalls, fun, food and, most importantly, friendship. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special. What a lovely day of sunshine, laughter and togetherness! 🌸☀️

🏆⚽ What a fantastic day at Fern Brook Lodge! ⚽🏆

We proudly presented our team with their medals and trophy for the 'Interhome' World Cup competition! 🎉

Our amazing players were delighted to place their trophy and medals on display in the lounge for everyone to admire. We couldn't be prouder of each and every one of them for their teamwork, enthusiasm, and fantastic sportsmanship.

A couple of weeks ago, the group had a wonderful time visiting St Ives House for the competition, creating great memories and making new friends. They are already looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!

Well done to all our players, you're all champions in our eyes! 🥇💙

🌺🏖️ What a fantastic afternoon we had for our Care South Star Awards finalist announcement Party! ⭐

This year we brought the beach to Fern Brook with a fun Hawaiian-themed celebration! 🌴🌊

From exciting water fights 💦 and singing our hearts out 🎶 to enjoying delicious food and spending quality time together, it was an afternoon full of laughter, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

A huge well done to all of our Star Award finalists, and thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special.

Here's to celebrating each other and creating wonderful moments together! 🌟💛

✨ What a wonderful day at our Care Home Open Day! ✨

Our celebrations began with a fascinating morning of reminiscence led by Jan from Rhymes, Rural and Reminiscence. Residents enjoyed a trip down memory lane as Jan shared stories about weddings and celebrations from bygone days. To make the occasion even more special, many residents dressed up and joined in the fun, bringing those cherished memories to life.

In the afternoon, everyone was treated to a delicious High Tea prepared by our talented Head Chef, followed by fantastic entertainment from musician Les Chaffe. Residents and their families spent the afternoon singing, dancing, and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere together.

One of our residents, Andy, summed up the day perfectly:
💬 “What a lovely afternoon, I had a great time.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so memorable. It was wonderful to see so many smiles, shared memories, and happy moments enjoyed by all. ❤️

It's been a busy and wonderful couple of weeks here at Fern Brook Lodge! 🌟

Our residents have enjoyed a fantastic variety of activities and visits. We were delighted to welcome Two Hats Band, who entertained us with a lively afternoon of singing and music that had everyone joining in. 🎶

The fun continued with garden games, aqua painting, our Memory Café, and a lovely afternoon tea party enjoyed by residents, families, and friends. ☕🍰

We also ventured out for a trip to the local motorbike café, which was a great success, and welcomed Dawn from Drumtastic for an energetic and enjoyable drumming session that brought plenty of smiles and laughter. 🥁🏍️

To round off the week, residents took part in a peaceful Home Communion service led by Rev Alan.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make these past few weeks so special. We look forward to many more wonderful moments together! 💚

The gentlemen of Fern Brook Lodge enjoyed a fantastic day out at Haynes Motor Museum, where memories, stories, and plenty of laughter filled the air. 🚗✨

From the moment they stepped inside, the museum’s gleaming collection of classic cars sparked instant conversation, from first cars and dream motors to long-forgotten favourites that brought back treasured memories.

After exploring the exhibits, the men enjoyed a well-earned break at Café 750, where the reminiscing continued over tea, cake, and great company.

A wonderful day filled with nostalgia, friendship, and smiles all around. 💙

Fern Brook Lodge marked VE Day with a joyful garden party celebration, bringing residents, staff, and friends from Buxton House together for a wonderful afternoon of remembrance and fun🌸

Staff embraced the spirit of the occasion in 1940s-inspired outfits, while residents enjoyed classic VE Day games, music, laughter, and sunshine in the garden. It was a heartfelt tribute to such an important day in history and a lovely opportunity for both homes to come together, share stories, and celebrate community spirit.

A truly memorable afternoon filled with smiles, friendship, and reflection. ❤️
