“Trade me a memory,” the butterfly said
“A memory that’s heavy and harsh,
And I’ll sit and I’ll listen and try my sweet best
To lighten the load on your heart”

So he told her of struggles, of heartache and pain
And he cried as he spoke them aloud
For it wasn’t one memory but lots of the same
That were, all of them, weighing him down

He spoke of a place filled with darkness and fear,
A tunnel devoid of all hope
And the spots on her wings deftly captured his tears
Then softly and gently she spoke

“Thanks for the memories,” the butterfly said
Then she gave him a butterfly kiss
And she took a deep breath as she wistfully sighed
And then traded her memory for his

“I’ve always been me but not always like this
There was once when I thought I had died
I was shrouded in darkness ‘til I grew my wings
See,
I needed that darkness to fly”

This week marks the beginning of mental health week, and the theme this year is 'action'. Remember that talking to someone can often help us find a little light in the darkness.

A wee awareness post for EDS

This is important to me as it’s something I love with and as I have got older it’s impacted me more.
Iv always been a fit and active person and now I’m navigating life with pain and restrictions.
Learning to pace yourself and listen to your body is so important.
Anyone who wants more info this page is great as is @ Jeannie Di Bon

Happy bank holiday Monday everyone

Much love

Did you know that the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) can affect the whole body?

EDS and HSD are conditions that affect connective tissue, which is the supporting material in the body holding everything in place and providing support, like the mortar between bricks.

The Ehlers-Danlos syndromes are a group of genetic connective tissue disorders that are currently classified in a system of thirteen types, each affecting connective tissue in different ways. Different types of EDS have different key features, for example:

- Vascular EDS (vEDS) mainly affects blood vessels and internal organs
- Classical EDS (cEDS) often involves very fragile skin and significant scarring
- Periodontal EDS (pEDS) is linked to severe early gum disease and tooth loss at an early age

In the hypermobility spectrum disorders, people have symptomatic joint hypermobility, which can cause pain, instability and other symptoms across the body.

All types of EDS and HSD can affect multiple systems of the body, and symptoms can change over time. That’s why understanding the type of EDS,or recognising HSD matters. It helps people get the right care and support.

A busy Saturday in my wee Clinic today
( I occasionally work weekends)
What a fun day 😍 I was able to say to two of my clients that our journey was nearing completion.
What a joy it is when you see someone’s strength returning , and their belief in their own fitness, and capacity to build on it.
Pilates principles were in full force today
Explaining the importance of CONTROL, PRECISION ,CENTERING ( using your powerhouse)
Using your BREATH work and the CONCENTRATION required to execute the moves
All of this aids with the FLOW of the movement
I love when clients get it, and understand the beauty and simplicity of the move while understanding the hard work it requires when they feel it working within a few repetitions.
This is my kind of perfect 👌🏻
One of my very favourite people took my recommendation to go see the new east end premises of The Rehab Hub
And immediately fell in love with the set up and with SJ and it warmed my heart that one of my absolute idols in the wellbeing industry is practicing in my neck of the woods.
If you have not tried it yet go check it out , you won’t regret it ###

It’s just approaching 10 am this Thursday morning and I am very chuffed with myself.
I braved driving on the motorway at rush hour to drop my daughter at work.
I then stopped off at Hogganfield loch and did a wee lap with Gracie in the glorious sunshine.
Small, but big wins for me.
So start noticing the little things you are doing that are actually so important for your wellbeing and health.

:Positive self talk and thoughts
: Slow deep breathing
: Gentle exercise
:Trying something new
:Getting outside for fresh air and sunlight
Having a beginners mindset full of curiosity rather than fear really helps to reframe your thinking.
It’s really ok to be a beginner at something and build your skills
Learning something new is such a mindful experience, you’re focused and thoughtful and definitely in the moment.
Have a wonderful day ahead

Much love

Big thank you to Gary Reed from GR network Engine Carbon Cleaning Scotland who came and sorted my engine out today.
With the cost of fuel rising every day it makes sense to maximise your MPG
Give Gary a wee message if you are interested

Thanks
