📅 A busy day ahead!

It was Milngavie group this morning, then it was off to cover the Old Kilpatrick group this evening – so I made sure I planned all of today's meals last night. 💖

Planning ahead is one of the best habits you can build on your weight loss journey. When you know what you're eating, you're less likely to grab convenience foods, it helps you stay in control, saves time, reduces stress, and keeps you focused on your goals. Even spending just 10 minutes each evening planning the next day's meals can make a huge difference.

🍎 Breakfast: Baked apple Skyr, apple, strawberries & banana
🍓 Snack: Slimming World-friendly sponge cake filled with apricots & strawberries
🍔 Lunch: Fakeaway Fish-o-Fillet, chips, tomatoes & cucumber
🍒 Snacks: Cherries & tangerines
🍤 Dinner: King prawn Arrabbiata topped with Parmesan

🤩Recipe of the Week 🤩

It’s World Chocolate day 🍫 did you know you can lose weight on Slimming Worlds food optimising plan and still eat chocolate.

Chocolate sponge and chocolate custard

Save a space after dinner for our slim-safe take on everyone’s favourite school pud...

🤩Ingredients 🤩

⭐️5 medium eggs, separated
⭐️3 level tbsp sweetener granules
⭐️1 tsp vanilla extract
⭐️60g self-raising flour
⭐️30g cocoa powder
⭐️½ level tsp baking powder
⭐️400g can Ambrosia Chocolate Flavour Devon Custard
⭐️Fresh raspberries, to serve (optional)

🤩Method 🤩

⭐️Preheat your oven to 190°C/fan 170°C/gas 5.

⭐️Line a 20cm x 20cm tin with baking paper. Place a large heatproof bowl over a pan of boiling water, ensuring the bowl doesn’t touch the water, then turn off the heat. Put the egg whites and sweetener into the bowl and beat until they form stiff peaks.

⭐️Add the egg yolks and vanilla extract to the egg whites, and whisk for 2-3 minutes until thick and glossy. Remove the bowl from the pan and sift in the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder. Fold them into the eggs using a metal spoon, making sure everything’s well combined.

⭐️Pour the mixture into the tin and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the sponge is risen and set. Allow it to cool slightly.

⭐️Cut the sponge into 9 equal-size pieces. Meanwhile, heat the custard according to the can instructions. Serve 1 piece of sponge per person and divide over the custard to serve – adding a couple of raspberries to each plate, if you like.

One of my favourite little day-out traditions is buying a magnet wherever we go. 🧲❤️

It might seem like such a small thing, but every magnet tells a story and brings back memories of a fantastic day spent together. Whether it's a family adventure, a weekend away or a spontaneous trip, it's our way of keeping those moments alive.

Not everywhere we visit sells magnets, so when we do find one, it makes it even more special! We have them proudly displayed on our cooker hood in the kitchen, and every single day they remind us of the places we've explored, the laughs we've shared and the memories we've made.

Sometimes it's the simplest traditions that become the most meaningful. ❤️

Busy day today with a meeting, so breakfast and lunch was while at the meeting, followed by dinner at a local restaurant where I knew I could make Food Optimising-friendly choices. 💖

S: Banana, melon & grapes, 3 x Babybel Light and a strawberry & banana Alpro yoghurt
D: Rump steak (fat removed), chicken skewer, jacket potato, salad, coleslaw and peppercorn sauce

A +4.5lb on the scales this morning... and do you know what? It was totally deserved after 7 days off plan! 🤷‍♀️

Do I regret making memories over the first week of the school holidays? Absolutely not. ❤️

What matters now is what I do next... and today I've started exactly where I know I need to be.

✅ Food diary completed.
✅ Back to Food Optimising.
✅ Finishing today on 8.5 SWIPS.

🍓 Breakfast: Blueberry Wheats, vanilla Kvarg, semi-skimmed milk & strawberries.

🥚 Lunch: Ham, cottage cheese, pepper & tomato egg muffins with a melon medley.

🍔 Dinner: Slimming World burgers with cheese, lettuce, onion, gherkins, balsamic glaze, pickles, jalapeños & beetroot.

🍊 Snacks: Prawn cocktail crisps & a tangerine.

One meal, one day, one choice at a time. A gain doesn't define your journey—it simply reminds you to get back to the habits that helped you succeed before.

What a phenomenal start to July for our Milngavie & Anniesland groups! 💫

1st week weigh-in results are in and together our amazing members have lost a total of 185.5lbs! 👏🔥

That’s not just a number – that’s commitment, consistency, and real determination from both our new and returning members. Every pound down is a step closer to healthier habits and long-term success.

So much pride, encouragement, and support flowing through group – exactly what makes our community so special. Proud is an understatement! 💖

Monday's adventure ✨️

Week 2 of the summer holidays is off to a fantastic start! Today I took Curtis along to the Flourishing Faifley Free Family Summer Club, and what a brilliant day it was.

We loved meeting all the animals, and Curtis was so brave holding the snakes and lizard! 🐍🦎 There was plenty to keep us busy with cookie decorating, sticky ball darts, basketball, Nerf gun fun, hammer throwing, and he even enjoyed a free packed lunch to finish off the day.

It's amazing to have free local events like this during the holidays, giving families the chance to make memories together without spending a fortune.

Here's to many more summer adventures over the next few weeks! ☀️❤️
