Most women have been told some version of the same advice for years: Eat less. Move more. ( not patronising at all..)
The trouble is, somewhere around your 40s, your body starts playing by slightly different rules.
When calories are cut too aggressively, especially without enough protein or resistance training, you can lose muscle alongside fat.
And that's a massive trade-off that becomes more important as we age.
Muscle helps support:
• Strength and mobility
• Blood sugar balance
• Metabolic health
• Healthy ageing and independence
So a more effective approach is forgetting about what worked when you were in your thirties. It's irrelevant now. You're working with a different kit. Your body can still shed fat, be strengthened and toned up. Just needs a different strategy.
✓ Resistance training
✓ Prioritising protein
✓ A moderate calorie deficit you can maintain consistently
Because the best plan isn't the one that works for two weeks. Ahhhh the good old days.. It's the one you can still see yourself following two months from now.
Slightly less exciting.
Far more effective.
