Happy winter solstice everyone. Today marks the shortest day and the longest night.
The moment the light begins its slow return. A time of rebirth and hope.
May we recognise and honour this shift in season, this womb like pause between what has been and what comes next. The end of one chapter honouring the new season the coming of the light, this season pulls us into reflection.
Today also falls on a new moon so may we embody the energy of the moon, may we take this time to contemplate to reflect, to go inside. This is the time to release what you’ve been carrying, to soften your body and practice nourishing rituals.
Tonight I’ll be lighting a candle whispering one thing I’m ready to release with the dying light, saying thank you and then blowing the candle out.Saying goodbye to what I’m ready to release. Relighting the candle setting a new intention to celebrate both light and dark.
I will also be starting magical nights.
For this I write down 13 intentions, the life I am calling in and fold them over. As always these are in the present tense as if they’re already happening. Planting the seeds for the year ahead. Each night without opening the intentions I will burn an intention under the candlelight (without looking at them) until the 13th night, sending it into the universe. On the 13th night I open the last intention and this is what I am going to focus on, my 13th wish is my own personal responsibility.
