Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living is run by disabled people for disabled people. We believe that barriers disable people, not impairments. Our support, payroll, training, housing, employment and consultancy services enable disabled people to assert more control over their lives as equal citizens.

In Control Scotland is running their Partners in Policymaking program. It is a leadership development programme for disabled adults (18+) and parents of disabled children (under 18).

Many past participants describe the program as life changing and go on to take on leadership roles locally and nationally.

This years programme will run over 8 residential weekends at Stirling Court Hotel, between September 2026 and March 2027:

An inclusive, paid opportunity to learn, contribute and take part in meaningful work. A welcoming, paid opportunity to build experience and take part.

We are pleased to share a new paid internship as part of our Employment and Internship Programme.

This opportunity is open to disabled people and offers hands-on experience in an advice service working to remove barriers and support meaningful participation.

Infinity Project Assistant Adviser Internship
Location: Dalkeith CAB and outreach locations.
Pay: Real Living Wage – £13.45 per hour
Hours: 15 hours per week for 28 weeks
Closing date: 12pm, Monday 25 May 2026

Hosted by Dalkeith and District Citizens Advice Bureau, this role supports advice delivery alongside experienced CAB Advisers, including work with the Infinity Project, a service designed with and for neurodivergent people.

You will gain experience supporting clients, preparing for advice sessions, handling case information, and working as part of a small, supportive team. Reasonable adjustments will be made, and flexible working approaches are encouraged.

We wrote the Easy Read version of a Scottish Government’s Budget document.

It explains how the spending plans for 2026 and 2027 aim to make life fairer for some groups of people in Scotland, in a clear and accessible way.

EXCITING NEWS........ As you may have already heard, we have received funding to bring back the fantastic 'Partners in Policymaking' programme. We will be running the programme over 8 residential sessions from September 2026 - March 2027 at Stirling Court Hotel in Stirling. This internship is open to disabled people and offers real work experience in an inclusive workplace, with a role designed to remove barriers and support meaningful participation. The post is paid at the Real Living Wage of £13.45 per hour and offers flexibility, including part time options.

Information Management Internship, hosted by GCIL (Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living)

GCIL are looking for someone organised, open to learn, and ready to get stuck into a project that really makes a difference. Working closely with the Support Service team, you will help them reconnect with people they have not heard from in a while.

If you enjoy speaking with people, keeping information tidy, and making sure systems work well for everyone, this could be a great fit.

You will review and update GCIL’s database, check in with supported people by phone, email, or letter, and help ensure records are accurate, up to date, and easy to use. It is a well‑defined project with a clear start and end point, offering hands‑on experience in administration, data handling, and person‑centred communication.

The role starts with office‑based induction and training, with hybrid working available afterwards.

Contract: 420 hours (around 12 weeks full time, or part time over a longer period)
Location: Glasgow, G40 3AP
Closing date: 12 p.m. on Friday 1 May 2025
