Thank you to everyone who attended our Trustee Information Session yesterday. We hope you enjoyed meeting members of our Board and team and learning more about our work.

Ann Dougan, Chair of the Board of Trustees, shared what motivates her most about the role:

“Making a difference on something that really matters to people whose lives living with a learning disability should be equal and loving and enjoyable, the same as everyone else in our society.”

We’re incredibly grateful to those considering joining us on this journey, and we look forward to receiving your application.

We had a great day attending the SUSE Annual Conference 2026, hearing from expert speakers and taking part in insightful workshops focused on workplace inclusion, digital accessibility, and reducing barriers to employment.

It was particularly valuable to hear practical examples and research being shared across the sector, alongside the opportunity to connect with both familiar faces and new contacts.

We heard from Christy McFayden from the Fraser of Allander Institute about their research on the employment experience of people with learning disabilities and the role employers can play in reducing inequalities.

As well as hearing from Anna Ritchie Allan, Executive Director at Close the Gap, Scotland's policy advocacy organisation working to influence action to tackle the causes of women's inequality in the labour market.

We look forward to building on those conversations and continuing to work collaboratively to support more inclusive employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities in Scotland.

We’re live! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who joined the Launch Webinar yesterday. Together, 140 people came together to explore how support for women with learning disabilities can be more inclusive, informed, and effective.

This work has been shaped and led by women with learning disabilities, and that leadership is at the heart of these new resources.

As one member shared:

“In developing this resource, it meant:

• Creating a peer space for women to share their experiences and views
• Listening to what mattered to us – not just what professionals’ thought was important
• Testing ideas and materials with us
• Making changes based on what we said

It also meant recognising lived experience as expertise.”

A recording of the webinar will be available soon. In the meantime, you can access the resources now and be part of making support and justice truly accessible for women with learning disabilities who have experienced gender-based violence.
