Life has a way of turning us upside down — testing our stability, strength and one-pointed focus when the fire is raging. Perhaps this is why we practise balances and inversions — not simply to master a shape, but to cultivate qualities that become inner resources for life.

Nearly thirty years of teaching and practice have taught me that yoga becomes truly potent when its different threads are woven together and lived.

If you’re ready to explore life itself as the yoga mat, join me for a 12-week online immersion beginning Sunday 13 September.

Details via the link in my bio — then head to Immersions + Workshops. 🌸

P.S. No arm balances required. 😉

Sometimes the practice of yoga looks like this…

Nothing much to see on the outside.

But inside, there’s something deeper happening.

Living Yoga in action.

How often do you find yourself trying to force the mind to be still, or telling yourself you should feel calmer than you actually do?

Sometimes we compare ourselves to others who seem so “spiritual” or peaceful. But in truth, the outer expression is not necessarily the inner reality.

None of us really know the battlefield going on in another person’s mind.

The Bhagavad Gita speaks directly to this inner battlefield.

Throughout the great stories of the Vedic tradition, we meet the full spectrum of human emotion and experience. Yoga does not ask us to deny that. It gives us wisdom and practices to meet it consciously.

For me, this is part of Living in Presence — being honest with what life presents us with and, through the wisdom of yoga, learning to move through life with more clarity, freedom and ease.

Want to explore this more deeply?
Join me online this September for the Four Petals Yoga Immersion.

In the UK, there is a solar eclipse on Wednesday 12 August, beginning at around 6pm.

In the Vedic tradition, an eclipse is not considered an auspicious time for outward activity. As the light is obscured, nature becomes quieter too — birds settle, animals withdraw — and we are invited to follow the rhythm of nature and turn inward.

A time for sadhana. We can use the powerful energies of this time to their best effect through mantra, meditation, yoga, prayer and devotion.

And perhaps a reminder too: even when the light is obscured, it is still there. The true light shines within. ✨
Light always triumphs over darkness, just as truth ultimately prevails over untruth. 💫

Personally, I’ll be staying inside, singing kirtan throughout the eclipse with our community. 🙏🏽

The soul knows.

It recognises something the mind cannot fully explain.

In the presence of a truly humble, wise, realised soul, words begin to fall away.

Only the heart understands. 🤍

✨ I’ve been a little quieter here lately…

For the past two months my life has revolved around seva while my Gurudev is visiting from India, so social media has naturally taken a back seat.

This past week we’ve been immersed in our annual 72-Hour Naam Yagya Kirtan Festival.

After months of preparation, we were blessed with five extraordinary days of pūjā, continuous kirtan, delicious prasadam, ceremonies and non-stop seva… all carried by the Mahā Mantra. 🙏

At the heart of it were 72 hours of uninterrupted kirtan, with the Mahā Mantra never falling silent. I had the joy of leading around three hours of kirtan each day, and one of my favourite kirtan slots was alongside an incredible group of twelve women devotees. Pure Shakti. 💛

It’s hard to describe what happens in that kind of immersion. The outside world slowly fades into the background. Faces soften. Hearts open. Joy shines through.

Having the privilege of witnessing that transformation, year after year, is one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Tonight I’m happily tired, my heart is overflowing… and yes, I’m ready for a long sleep! 😴

The kirtan, however, never really stops… not in my head anyway. 🎶💛
