These type 1 info cards are ideal for children with diabetes who are starting a new school or college.
Are you starting University and moving away from Gloucestershire?
If you have an ๐Ÿ‘€ eye screening ๐Ÿ‘€ appointment you won't be able to attend, please call to cancel
0300 422 4419 โ˜Ž๏ธ
This allows us to offer the appointment to someone else who needs it.

Is your child living with type 1 diabetes and getting ready for the new school year? โœ๏ธ

'My Type 1 Info' cards are perfect for students to carry with them in their pocket, school bag or diabetes kit. They can be personalised with information their school staff may need to know, including the technology they use, hypo treatments and why a child with type 1 may need access to a mobile phone.

Designed with the help of our Together Type 1 Young Leaders, the card aims to make conversations about diabetes with teachers and school staff easier, helping to reduce anxiety and answer common questions they may have.

Staying safe during the solar eclipse ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒ—๐ŸŒ‘๐ŸŒ’๐ŸŒ“
๐ŸŒ•Looking directly at the sun can cause serious and lasting damage to your vision. Don't look directly at the sun even when the eclipse is at it's darkest.
๐ŸŒ—Wearing sunglasses doesn't protect you from retinal damage if you look directly at the sun.
๐ŸŒ˜Solar retinopathy can develop from even short periods of exposure. Symptoms can include blurred/distorted vision, colours fainter, reading more difficult, a new dark spot in your vision. In some cases the effects are temporary but in others there can be permanent vision loss.
๐ŸŒ‘You can buy special solar viewing glasses or watch indirectly using a pinhole projector.
