What a wonderful day yesterday at the beautiful Horsley Towers, celebrating Ada Lovelace and supporting Home-Start Guildford. 💜

A stunning setting, a delicious lunch prepared by the Exclusive Use Venue chef and a fascinating panel discussion exploring STEM, innovation and discovery.

We also learnt more about the remarkable Ada Lovelace through presentations and a tour of the house and grounds. Such an inspiring woman, whose imagination and pioneering thinking continue to influence our world today.

It was also lovely to be joined by the fabulous Sarah Hammond, whose beautiful book has been so generously donated in support of Home-Start Guildford.

As part of the day, I created a little guided meditation, and rather fittingly, technology helped bring it to life! Something that might not have been possible without Ada’s pioneering work all those years ago.

And I thought, why not share it with everyone?

If you’re coming to see us today, please allow extra time for your journey. The road is CLOSED at the bend by Summers Lane and on the bend on Hurtmore Road, apparently for emergency gas repairs.

The closure isn’t showing on Google Maps at the moment, so please don’t rely on it to guide you through.

What a weekend for learning, inspiration and all things beauty & wellbeing! ✨

On Saturday, Clare attended the Sacred Vitality Longevity Conference at the Royal Society of Medicine, hosted by Levitas Clinic - a fascinating day exploring longevity, health and wellbeing and plenty to take away and think about.

Then it was on to Professional Beauty London at ExCeL for two very full days!

Sunday was all about enjoying the show with the team catching up with the brands we already love, discovering what’s new and coming away with lots of ideas (and possibly a few new treatments 👀).

On Monday, Clare swapped visiting for hosting, taking to the Skin & Longevity Stage for a full day of education and conversations with some brilliant industry experts.

Meanwhile, Hayley sensibly opted for sunshine and fun in Ibiza! ☀️😂

Lots learnt, lots of conversations had and some exciting new things already in the pipeline for The Fountain.

We can’t wait to share more with you… 💜

Hello October 🍂

September treated us to such glorious sunshine, but with the days drawing in, those cosy autumn moments are calling.

Sunday Pause 💜

A client said something to me this week that really stayed with me.

She told me how much she loves coming to The Fountain because she always feels welcomed and relaxed and that she leaves feeling she has had a really good treatment, without being made to feel there is something “wrong” with her body.

It meant a lot, because that is exactly what we want The Fountain to be.

Of course we want our treatments to make a difference. We want to use our knowledge, experience and skills to help you feel better.

But just as importantly, we want you to feel looked after.

There is a lot of conversation in our industry about results, techniques and what needs “fixing”. Sometimes what someone actually needs is kindness, a listening ear, a little quiet and an hour where nothing is expected of them.

I was reminded of that again this week when I saw the genuine care one of our therapists had for a client who was going through a difficult time.

That compassion can’t really be taught from a treatment manual.

And I think that might be one of the things I’m most proud of about our little team.

Good treatments matter.
How you make someone feel matters too.

A little autumn update from The Fountain 🍂💜

You can really feel the seasons changing now…

Cooler mornings, the heating going on earlier, evenings drawing in and still that lovely warm sunshine in the middle of the day.

The duvets are back on the beds too, ready for that extra snuggle during your treatment.

A little reminder that we do have availability, and if you can’t find the appointment you want online, please do add yourself to our waitlist as it’s the first place we look when cancellations come in.

Bella is still working towards her one facial every working day challenge, with complimentary LED Light Therapy included with her 60-minute facials throughout September.

Charlotte is also now offering more treatments as she gets closer to finishing her apprenticeship, which is lovely to see.

And yes… Christmas gifting is already beginning to arrive too.

Sunday Pause 💜

There’s a definite change in the air now.

Cooler, fresher mornings, the light beginning to soften and fade a little earlier, the occasional shower… yet still some beautifully warm September days.

Autumn doesn’t arrive all at once. It quietly starts to make itself known.

Maybe there’s something rather lovely in that - a reminder that we don’t always have to rush from one season, or one thing, straight into the next.

Today, just enjoy where you are.

A slower morning.
A walk in the fresh air.
A cup of something warm.
Or simply a little time with nowhere you need to be.
