If you want to stay active this summer, it's important to do so safely. Here are a few tips to keep active in the sun without risking your health.

1. Dress appropriately
Make sure you wear breathable clothing to allow yourself to sweat. Sweating is how your body regulates your body temperature and will help you to cool down in high temperatures.

2. Stay hydrated
Similarly, replenishing fluids lost by sweating is just as important. Drinking plenty of water before, during, and after exercise is vital. And replenishig electrolytes during and after exercise is advised. You can do this with bottled sports drinks like Lucozade and Powerade, or by using tablets and powders in your water.

3. Wear plenty of SPF
If you're planning on being in the sun all day playing sports or on a run/walk then make sure you wear suncream with good protection. SPF 50+is the gold standard. We all want to have a nice tan and look good this summer, but sun damage is dangerous and isn't fun when you're looking like a lobster for the next week.
