💧 What’s really in your water?

While tap water is regulated, it can still contain traces of contaminants such as chlorine by-products, PFAS ("forever chemicals"), heavy metals, microplastics and other endocrine-disrupting compounds. Research shows that some plastic-related chemicals, including BPA and certain phthalates, can mimic estrogen in the body and interfere with hormone balance. Microplastics have also been detected in both tap and bottled water, with some studies finding even higher levels in bottled water due to plastic packaging.Choose glass over plastic
Using less plastic, will benefit our planet too 🌍.

A high-quality water filtration system can help reduce exposure to many unwanted contaminants. Some well-regarded options include reverse osmosis systems, activated carbon filters and gravity-fed filters such as Berkey®, AquaTru® and Clearly Filtered®. Always choose a system independently tested to reduce contaminants relevant to your area.

Minerals matter too. Reverse osmosis and highly purified water may remove beneficial minerals along with contaminants. Adding a quality trace mineral supplement can help replenish essential minerals such as magnesium, potassium and trace elements that support hydration, cellular function, and the body's natural detoxification pathways.

Feeling overwhelmed, totally uninspired, anxious, wired-but-tired, struggling with sleep, or noticing unexplained weight gain?

When the body perceives ongoing stress, the stress response system (including the HPA axis and autonomic nervous system) can become overactive. Simple ways to support nervous system regulation:

EGGS & MEAT🫀

So many people are worried about their cholesterol… but let’s simplify things a little. 👇

Blood sugar and liver health play a major role here too.

🔄 Insulin resistance (often driven by chronically high blood sugar) signals the liver to produce more triglycerides and harmful cholesterol particles.

🩸 High blood sugar + high insulin can:
• Increase triglycerides
• Lower HDL (“good” cholesterol)
• Promote small, dense LDL particles (the more atherogenic type)

🫀 Fatty liver (NAFLD/MASLD) is closely linked to:
• High cholesterol
• High triglycerides
• Prediabetes & Type 2 diabetes
• Increased cardiovascular risk

⚠️ In many people, elevated cholesterol is a sign of metabolic dysfunction — not simply eating too much fat or eggs.

Eggs do contain cholesterol, but for most healthy people, dietary cholesterol has only a small effect on blood cholesterol levels because the body tightly regulates cholesterol production in the liver.

Research consistently shows that refined carbohydrates, excess sugar, insulin resistance, alcohol excess and ultra-processed foods have a much bigger impact on triglycerides, fatty liver, and harmful cholesterol patterns.

So yes… your daily sugary cereal, toast with jam, soft drinks, frequent takeaways, or nightly wine may have far more relevance here than eating eggs for breakfast.

📚 Research shows insulin resistance is a key driver linking high blood sugar, fatty liver, abnormal cholesterol and cardiovascular disease.

Think beyond fat:

🐝15-Minute Healthy Dinner for Busy Bees....

Fast food can still be REAL food ✨
This quick nourishing dinner is packed with protein, fibre, healthy fats, antioxidants & gut-loving ingredients to keep energy stable and support overall health.

🍣 Wild Salmon + Rainbow Power Pan + Bitter Leaf Salad for 2- 3 portions

👩‍🍳 Quick Method

Preheat oven to Gas Mark 4 or air fryer to 170°C.

Take frozen or fresh wild salmon fillet(s), drizzle with avocado oil, season with black pepper & Celtic sea salt, then cook for 10–12 mins.

Meanwhile, heat 1 tbsp coconut oil in a large frying pan and add:

🥕 1–2 carrots
🧅 1 red onion
🧄 4–5 garlic cloves
🌶 1 pepper
🥒 1 courgette
🥦 1 cup broccoli
🫛 1 cup sugar snaps

Or any leftover vegetables you have (i always opt for organic to reduce pesticide & herbecide load or wash with bicarbonate soda water for 5 min).

Add:
✨ 1 tbsp vegetable stock
✨ 150ml water

Cover and steam/blanch for 5 mins.

Then stir in:
🌱 1–2 cups lentils, chickpeas or beans
🫛 1 cup peas
🌿 1 tsp mixed herbs
🧂 Celtic sea salt & black pepper
🥬 2 handfuls spinach

Cook covered for another 5 mins.

Serve with salmon, with fresh lemon and a bitter leaf side salad made with rocket, chicory or watercress, avocado, beetroot, pepper, cucumber, radish, sauerkraut, extra virgin olive oil, mustard & lemon juice, celtic seasalt & black pepper.🥗

My hormone & brain-loving breakfast bowl:

🥚 2–3 organic 7-min eggs
→ choline for brain, liver & hormone health.Complete protein.

🥣 150g goat or sheep yogurt
(often easier to digest than cow’s dairy)
→ protein, healthy fats & probiotics.
Or use cottage cheese for extra protein.

🌱 Dairy-free?
Choose an unsweetened high-protein coconut or almond yogurt.Add extra 1 scoop of h**p protein powder or seeds.
