Not everyone wants an injectable, and that’s completely okay 🤍

Sometimes patients prefer to focus on their skincare, while others want to combine a professional skincare routine with their injectable treatments.

That’s where Obagi can be a great option.

A personalised Obagi skincare plan can help target concerns such as:

* Uneven skin tone
* Pigmentation
* Dullness
* Fine lines
* Texture
* Signs of skin ageing

The aim is to improve the overall health and quality of your skin, whether you’re choosing skincare alone or using it alongside aesthetic treatments.

There’s no “one treatment fits all” approach here. Your skin is individual, so your treatment plan should be too.

Not sure where to start? Book a consultation and we can create a plan around your skin and your goals.

SkinVive vs Polynucleotides — what’s the difference? 👀

They’re both designed to improve skin quality, but they work in different ways.

SkinVive
→ Hyaluronic acid based
→ Focuses on hydration and skin smoothness
→ Helps give the skin a fresher, more hydrated appearance

Polynucleotides
→ Focus on supporting skin regeneration
→ Help improve hydration, elasticity and texture
→ Great for those looking to improve overall skin quality

So which one is right for you?

There isn’t a one size fits all answer. Your skin, concerns and goals all need to be considered before choosing the right treatment.

Not sure which would be best for you? Book a consultation and let’s talk about your skin.

“Is there any downtime after polynucleotides?”

This is a question I get asked a lot!

There can be a little swelling, redness or small raised areas at the injection points immediately after treatment. This is completely normal and usually settles within around 48 hours.

For most people, it’s a treatment with minimal downtime, meaning you can generally get back to your usual routine fairly quickly.

As with any injectable treatment, everyone can respond differently, so I’ll always talk you through what to expect before your treatment and provide aftercare advice.

What does menopause actually do to our skin? And why are polynucleotides becoming such a popular treatment?

As oestrogen levels decline during perimenopause and menopause, our skin can change too.

You may notice:

* Increased dryness and dehydration
* Thinner, more fragile skin
* Loss of elasticity and firmness
* A reduction in collagen production
* More noticeable fine lines and wrinkles
* Changes in skin texture and radiance
* Slower skin regeneration

This is where treatments that focus on skin quality and regeneration can be particularly useful.

Polynucleotides work differently from traditional dermal fillers. Rather than adding volume, they are used to support the skin’s natural regenerative processes, helping improve hydration, elasticity, texture and overall skin quality.

So if you’re noticing that your skin just feels different during perimenopause or menopause, polynucleotides may be one option worth discussing.

Your skin doesn’t need to be changed, it may just need a little more support. 🤍

What happens when I use the OBSERV Skin Scanner? 🔍

Your skin can tell us a lot more than what we can see in the mirror.

The OBSERV Skin Scanner uses different light modes to analyse the skin in detail, helping identify concerns that may not yet be obvious to the naked eye.

We can assess things such as:

* Hydration and dryness
* Pigmentation and uneven skin tone
* Redness and vascular concerns
* Congestion and oiliness
* Texture and skin quality
* Areas of sun damage

This gives me a much more detailed picture of your individual skin, allowing us to create a treatment and skincare plan based on what your skin actually needs, rather than guessing.

Because the best results start with understanding your skin first. 🤍

Are polynucleotides the same as filler? 🤔

The short answer is no.

Polynucleotides and dermal fillers work in very different ways.

Dermal filler is primarily used to add volume, enhance contours and restore structure to areas of the face.

Polynucleotides are focused more on skin quality and regeneration, helping to support the skin’s natural processes and improve hydration, elasticity and overall texture.

So if you’re looking for volume and definition, filler may be more appropriate. If your goal is healthier, fresher-looking skin, polynucleotides may be an option.

The right treatment always depends on your individual face, skin and goals, which is why consultation is so important.

What exactly are polynucleotides useful for? 👀

Think of polynucleotides as a treatment focused on skin quality rather than simply adding volume.

They can help to:

* Improve skin hydration
* Support collagen and elastin production
* Improve skin texture and elasticity
* Give the skin a healthier, fresher appearance
* Soften the appearance of fine lines
* Support overall skin regeneration

They’re particularly useful when your goal is healthier, stronger, more youthful looking skin without changing the structure or shape of your face.

Your skin goals are individual, which is why a consultation is key to deciding whether polynucleotides are right for you.
