๐ AMT IS 10! ๐
How crazy is that?! ๐๐
For those of you who donโt know our story, take a few minutes out of your day โ because itโs been quite the journeyโฆ even if we do say so ourselves ๐
AMT, or officially *Advance Medical Transport Services* (a bit of a mouthful, so weโll stick with AMT ๐
), was founded by our Managing Director, Diane Simmonds.
๐ Hi Di!
Diโs journey into the medical world started many years ago, working as a nurse on hospital wards before moving onto ambulances, completing both PTS and event work. Safe to say the ambulance world was already in the family too ๐
But one night, Di had a thoughtโฆ
โWhy donโt I give this ambulance thing a go myself?โ
She loved the work and wanted to build something of her own โ but more importantly, she wanted to create a company that felt different. Not a huge enterprise where management are never seen, but a company that felt like family โค๏ธ
Then came the opportunity that started it allโฆ
Di was offered the chance to provide two ambulances for weekend medical events, and she decided to take the leap of faith and go all in on creating AMT โจ
With support from family investing in her dream, AMT was born โ starting with just two C1 ambulances covering go-karting events ๐๐
Not long after, another opportunity came along. Di was asked if she could help facilitate patient transport from Maidstone and Pembury Hospital.
She said yesโฆ and never looked back ๐ช
Fast forward 10 years, and AMT has grown from those original two ambulances into:
๐ 14 ambulances
๐ 2 medical cars
๐ 1 medical centre bus
Weโve also expanded into training, with a dedicated training area where we can continue developing skills, supporting staff, and helping others grow within the industry ๐โจ
Today, AMT proudly covers multiple hospital contracts and events, including Race for Life and Brands Hatch racing circuit ๐๐
Over the years weโve grown, moved into larger premises, and welcomed an incredible team along the way โ but one thing has always stayed the same:
AMT is still a family โค๏ธ
Di still gets involved out on events from time to time, because AMT has never just been a business to her โ itโs her passion, her dream, and her journey.
