Make sure you have enough prescription medicine to last over the festive period.
Many pharmacies and GP surgeries will need up to seven days’ notice to issue a repeat prescription.
Please order any repeat prescriptions you need as early as possible. Don’t forget to pack your medication if visiting family and friends over Christmas too.

On Friday, 29th November, the Ship pub hosted their first Information Marketplace event. In attendance were Age Well East, local area coordinators (LACs), adult social services, and the Thurrock Community Health Champions (CHCs).

As always, there was lots of information and leaflets to hand out, and the group were approached by several people for advice and information.

This will be a regular event, usually held on the last Friday of each month. Look out for the next one where lots of local information will be provided, and you'll find a good range of services.

On Wednesday, 27th November, Sue Tyson and Ian Darlow, our Thurrock Community Health Champions (TCHC), attended a health and wellbeing event at Civic Hall.

The aim of the event was to try to make practice patients aware of the services available to them in Thurrock. There were many stallholders selling items, some giving information and signposting, and several offering freebies for people in need. "We saw lovely knitted blankets and baby clothes," said the TCHC's.

Overall, there was a really good turnout with some local school children's choirs singing during the event along with an appearance from Santa himself.
