If you’ve been eyeing our heated sessions but haven’t taken the plunge yet, don’t sweat it! We’ve gathered our favorite essential tips to help our hot class beginners feel confident and ready to flow. 🧘♀️
1. Hydration is your best friend
Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your session. Heated rooms mean serious sweating, and losing fluids quickly is part of the game. Arriving parched can leave you feeling lightheaded or queasy. Pro-tip: Sip on some electrolytes post-class to replenish your system and bounce right back!
2. Move at your own pace
Your debut session doesn’t have to be a high-octane workout. Listen to your body; it is completely fine to pause, slow things down, or just take a breather while your system adjusts to the climate. Give yourself a few classes, and you’ll find your body acclimating to the warmth beautifully.
3. Dress for the heat
Opt for breathable shorts over heavy leggings or flares. Even if there’s a chill in the air outside, we promise you’ll regret bundling up in thick layers once the room warms up. Keep it light!
4. Smart fueling
Avoid eating a massive meal right before you arrive, but please don’t starve yourself all day either. Navigating high heat on a stuffed stomach can trigger nausea, but working out completely empty isn’t ideal either. A light, energizing snack about an hour or two before class is the sweet spot.
5. Give yourself permission to pause
Need to slip out of the studio for a quick breath of fresh air? Go right ahead. Our instructors are there to support you, not judge you. They might pop their head out just to make sure you’re feeling okay, but your comfort and safety always come first.
6. Be kind to yourself
Even if you are incredibly fit, your first heated class can feel surprisingly tough. The temperature adds an entirely new layer of difficulty to the workout. Don’t let negative self-talk creep in if it feels challenging; it takes a few sessions to find your groove!
