After last weeks superb Nordic Walk we decided to do it again. Meeting at Caister Lifeboat we headed out to the beach and really nice weather..the warm up was full of conversation with ‘Take That’ on the agenda and Gary Barlow took the ‘best band member’ award with Robbie Williams, somewhat controversially taking the wooden spoon! The beach was a mixture of firm sand, pebbles and soft sand, G and J set a mighty pace and really impressed with their techniques. We had a ‘cool wind in our hair, with the warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air’ so we headed up the cliffs into California, and back along some beautiful countryside, even holidaying dogs were interested in our progress. We passed Caister Holiday Camp, the oldest and best camp in the UK and back to Caister for a cool down..plenty of laughs, conversations, seals, fresh air, exercise, generally a great walk..Thank You

If you are managing arthritis, staying active matters.

The challenge is finding something that supports your joints rather than putting more pressure on them

Healthline highlights Nordic walking as a low-impact way to keep moving while easing the load through the body.

With the right technique, the poles help distribute the effort more evenly, so you are not relying solely on your hips, knees, and ankles. Movement becomes more supported, posture improves, and walking feels more stable and controlled.
It gives you a way to stay active without the impact that often leads to setbacks.

That is where proper instruction comes in.

At British Nordic Walking, every step is taught using the INWA 10 Step Method™, so you move well, safely, and with purpose from the start.
If you want to keep moving without putting your joints under pressure, this is where it begins.

Today’s Nordic Walk, along the was probably in the top 5 since we started ! The weather was perfect, sunny with a cool breeze coming off the sea. The beach was also perfect as we headed down to Scratby and California, it was so good that everyone wanted to walk back the same way. Lots of discussions as always as we walked, today’s topics included books and how many you read on holiday and arrangements for a 60th birthday! Everyone kept going at a good pace and there was lots to see along the path. We had timed the walk to coincide with the 10am launch of Caister Lifeboat, unfortunately we had some old information and missed the 9am launch ! But that was a minor hiccup on what was a Red Letter Nordic Walk..Thank You

Well that was a tough in just the best weather. The tide was not kind leaving a stoney shore line and the sand was super soft making it tough going along the to Caister Lifeboat. It was really nice to move onto solid heathland after a hydration break and we enjoyed talking about last nights Champions league final, with the outcome that Arsenal were unlucky but English teams and penalties are never a good outcome…it was also good to have a friendly ladybird (Bishy Barnabee in Norfolk) join us and keep an eye on the time..Tough, great walk..Thank You

Not many photos today ! (Sorry, I know we all love them)..Very blustery morning with ominous skies, but no rain came our way..The beach, tight against the shoreline, was good, with the occasional wave making us shuffle up and down to avoid wet feet. We headed down to The Wellington pier and back along Marine Parade taking in the sights. It was great to have a newbie join us, and he took to his first Nordic Walking session like a natural. Nice finish through the Waterways and a hearty discussion about tea during the cool down..Thank You..

From the beach to the Norfolk Broads..Lovely Nordic Walk today trying out a new route…starting at Ludham Church, going through some picturesque countryside to How Hill and the spiritual home of Wind In The Willows, past Toad Cottage and on to the Broads. The weather was really nice and we made a good pace with the poles giving a good upper body strength session. Great to be out in nature and sharing conversations throughout. Thank You

Really tough Nordic Walk this morning, the beach was not kind, with stones up to the breaking waves and super soft sand heading to Caister. Plenty of banter kept us going and it was nice to have some lovely sunshine heading back through some colourful heath land. Everyone put in a proper shift, but with a good warm up and cool down hopefully not to many aches..we even discussed today’s Manchester City v Arsenal game…with the majority going for a City win…time will tell ! Thank You

Stunning this morning along the , the beach was initially tough going with lots of stones left by the tide, the old Grub's boots got a bit of a soaking in the breaking waves, but they stood up well to the waterproof tag. After the Britannia Pier we were nicely warmed up and enjoyed a flatter stone free beach with glorious sunshine. As always, lots of chatting with the Norwich v Ipswich game being pulled apart, and the benefits of using an air fryer hot topics ..Then back along the promenade and through the Waterways for a nice stretch out..all in all..a great start to Sunday..Thank You
