Meet Chloe 🌟

My name is Chloe Hudson and I would like to tell you a bit about myself.

I am 34 years old. I have autism and dyspraxia, which affects my muscles and joints, I can struggle to hold a lot of things. My autism makes it difficult for me to understand other people. I can take longer to learn new things.

I work at Cromwell Road Resource Centre in the admin team and on reception. I have been at Cromwell Road Resource Centre since February 2022.

The staff and managers at Cromwell Road have been so supportive to me in my role, always helpful and polite. It can take me a few weeks to learn fully how to do the job and repetition helps me to learn how to do my job better.

I do photocopying, checking the stock, typing, shredding, laminating.

In my free time I like to go out to eat with my friends, gardening at home. I go to my parents every weekend to watch a film/tv programme and have snacks. I go to Foresight and do different activities. I go to Club 22 and I do bingo, craft, board games, bowling, going out for meals and on day trips.

I lived in a shared house and Mencap support me. I enjoy it there and I have been there for 11 years.

Meet Kevin! 🌟

Kevin is a staff member at Cromwell Road Day Centre, who has worked and volunteered here for over 15 years.

Kevin has a great working relationship with service users and staff. He especially has a fabulous working relationship with everybody else who works in the garden! 🌳

Some of his jobs over the years include; painting, salt spreading, planting flowers and seeds for the summer, and clearing our pathways from litter and leaves. He does this all year round!

Kevin tends to the hedges around the centre, keeping them near and tidy. He also cuts the grass - and when he's finished, it looks like the Grimsby Town football pitch! ⚽️

Our service users have so many fantastic talents, skills, and achievements that happen outside of the centre, and we’d love to showcase them!

Whether it’s sports, music, art, dancing, volunteering, cooking, fundraising, hobbies, awards, or any other special achievement, we want to hear all about it.

The Friday Frolikers have had a busy couple of weeks, a trip to weelsby woods for a walk around and games and also a walk down cleethorpes and ice cream
