🌿 Wellbeing Walks in the Peak District 🌿

Once a month, our Adult Autism Service (AAS)/ADHD service heads out of Grimsby and into the Peak District for a wellbeing walk – supporting mental health, confidence and connection with nature.

Led by Steve, a qualified Mountain Leader from our AAS and supported by Lou one of our brilliant Autism Support Workers, these walks are made possible thanks to funding from Sport England. With support from the Care Plus Group Charitable Trust, Lou is training for her Lowland Leader qualification, and one of our service users is training too – building confidence and independence every step of the way 👣💚

For many participants, this is their first adventure beyond Grimsby in years. Once in the hills, conversations flow, confidence grows… and everyone heads home rosy‑cheeked and happily worn out 🚆✨

💛 Autism Acceptance Week 💛

This week, we’re proud to be celebrating Autism Acceptance Week and our collaborative approach with our friends at Faraway & Navigo. Bringing people together through a range of inclusive and welcoming activities and groups.

Get involved with:
☕ Coffee mornings
🎳 Bowling groups
🎱 Pool groups
🎬 Movie clubs
🎨 Arts and crafts sessions

These groups are designed to be inclusive, supportive spaces where autistic adults can connect, feel understood, and be themselves. They also play a vital role in raising awareness of autism within our local community and helping shape our groups that are accessible and welcoming for everyone.

Acceptance means creating environments where differences are valued.
